This is a great start to the M&E Planning course.

the importance of M&E is crucial in project success. it provide room to critically looked into the project to ensure the goals are accomplished which include satisfaction on the side of the sponsor and render service to the beneficiary.

1. M&E helps to identify the most valuable and efficient use of resources.
   2.It determines when the programme is going to plan and when changes may be needed.
2. M&E provides data needed for strategic planning, designing and implementation of programmes.
3. It also helps in checking whether the desired output of a project is achieved or not and the necessary action to be take.

M&E is important as long as it allows projects to be successful by establishing an adequate plan starting with the setting of objectives, the establishment of indicators to be monitored regularly before moving on to the evaluation where the level of achievement of the objectives set at the outset is measured.

M&E is important to control the project which have to meet with progress regularly and keep on tracking whether the project are on right track or not, and measuring whether project meet according to the objectives or not.
So M&E take important role to over view the project time to time.

Monitoring and Evaluation is very important step and tools to measure the successful of the project. It should be included in master workplan since the project preparing phase and until completion.

Learning about the importance of M&E is great. I am seeing how I can integrate this theory into my everyday workplans.

obviously MEH project team are unable to measure the intended outputs and outcomes of the project, while GOOD project team is on a track to measure the progress of project activities and the can easily determine on what have already and done and what needed to do the next

Well when we see the given two case, first case has described how the M&E has been used to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the project. On the other hand in the MEH case we can clearly distinguished that the stakeholders are in dilemma to check whether output or outcome of the project.
So some of the importance we can see from the given case are:

• M&E promotes sustainability of the project

• M&E enables on understanding the ground realities

• M&E promotes the approach of Specific, Measureable, Attitude, Reliabilities and Time (SMART) ideology.

It helps in understanding the step by step processes that a business needs to go through, as well as point out the hiccups that are faced along the way.

Monitoring evaluation allows you to measure the progress of a project compared to the initial objectives. It allows, with regard to the objectives, to determine intermediate results, to define indicators for measuring performance and to set up a system of collection, processing and analysis of data to facilitate decision-making.

M&E is a critical component for any organization in keeping track how our project is doing. Any project reqires an M & E plan to determine if we are meeting set objectives.

The importance of M&E can not be ignored because, it is the back bone or foundation to a successful project, if an organization is to achieve accurate precision and an insight to a project, the a plan is very important.
As we see in the two project example stated above (the Good is more likely to succeed because the have an M&E plan, but the MEH is likely to fail since the have no idea on an insight on how to go about achieving their goal as the the team has no knowledge of an M&E plan.

Those are good example that will help me how to create a successful M&E Plan.

Monitoring and Evaluation has vital importance, specially in a live of a project it really help us to know how can we conduct our activities based on plan and how we collect data from the field and how we evaluate the progress of the project.

The use of two examples to give a background about what M&E entails, which contexts it can be used, the timing for making M&E plans and the elements is great. The first case where GOOD has clear goals and objectives to meet give the impression for a starting point; basic information required to establish a M&E plan. However, the second case of MEH also shows that even without a clear objective and time specificies for achieving them to start with, the fact that the project is not yet set in motion gives room for developing a proper M&E framework.

The Importance of M&E is to find out how to reach the main goal by put together resources as well as they are given firstly by build a plan of data collection on how to achieve the objective, how this project is benefit for recipients lives, how to make a report, how many time the report will be done in the year, what is the appropiate time to produce it and to who this report is adressed.
Properly for MEH, the plan have to be built on how many girls are concerned on the one hand, what amount of money is dedicated for what kind of project that will be financed, what is the social impact by financing several procjects, what is the annual target aimed and on the other hand, what is the appropiate time to prepare the report to donor and how many reports are needed.
The plan must allow MEH to detect problems and find out appropiate solutions, and measures how successful thisr project will be to convince funders and partners

You are right. In adtition, the M&E allows us to learn about the impact of the project on the beneficiaries life, and how to improve aspects that are less highlighted, for the similarly future projects.

M&E is not only critical for the project success but also important source of information that can guide future projects. Adequately gathered and documented information can be used as critical reference points in identifying risks and assumptions likely to be encountered in future projects. However, M&E is not an end in itself for project success but rather a means to an end. Whenever evaluations reveals that progress does not match up to the project goals, the implementers have a duty to make necessary adjustments. Being that projects operate within time, cost and quality constraints, no project manager wants to realize errors only at the project completion stage. M&E helps to anticipate the project pathway/life cycle, mirror its outplay and provide various mechanisms for navigating through even some of the challenging situations along the way.

Yes. This is true. It is not even the inability to monitor progress that makes M&E plans important. The probability of project failure makes it even more essential. What is the quantitative target of MEH? How many girls do they want to support?

What is the Maximum amount of loan that can be given out to one girl?

As showed there are two projects the first project had a clear M&E plan, but the second project will require some clear ideas and thought to get in the right way and a good M&E plan. I hope to succeed in developing a good M&E plan for the MEH project.

Monitoring is important to check that you are always on your way to get the goal, to see the problems very fast in order to resolve them immediately. Monitoring is helpful to anticipate problems too, so it might helps to avoid big failures. Monitoring is important for members of the team, because each teammate can see where the plan is, what is done ou what left to be done. Thanks to monitoring, each member of the project can react by giving solutions about issues, or by warning about problems. Monitoring guides the decisions to take. Choices and decisions are justified by datas collected in monitoring. That's why monitoring gives interesting datas to analyse in order to use efficiently ressources and money in the project.
Evaluation is important to know if you succeeded, if you reach the goal, if the job is done well or not. It is important to know the quality of outcomes. Thanks to evaluation, you can identify right actions to duplicate in other plans and wrong actions to avoid in other plans.
Thanks to m&e, the team of the project will work better together because each member of the team knows his own task in s&e, understands the meaning of these tasks and how s&e is useful for the project, how s&e will improve quality of the project. m&e you define what datas to collect, how to collect and what to do with these datas in your project to be successful.

The importance of M&E is two fold as stated by the name i.e. monitoring and evaluation. Monitoring is mainly concerned with the collection of data/information pertaining to the project in order to be able to measure the progress of the project or activity. The data/information collected assists in tracking the performance of the project and make informed decisions on the effectiveness of the project.
On the other hand, evaluation is used to measure the progress of various project tasks in relation to the set project activity outcomes.

It is interesting to learn the whole process to accompany and help different organizations, and especially vulnerable populations, I am excited to learn about monitoring and evaluation to effectively guarantee the help to people, and that their projects are sustainable in the long term to live of its ecological resources.
