Hi, My name is Supriya and I am from Mumbai, India. I work for one of India’s oldest non- sectarian organizations in the philanthropic sector. After a couple of years working in Program Design and Implementation I am currently working with the Strategy team to build sustainability, scalability and replicability in all programmatic interventions. I intend to build my skills and help improve my organisation to build better sustainable impactful strategies for the last mile beneficiaries. Since Fundraising forms an important component in social sector, I would like to learn and incorporate these course learning into my work. Yes, I would definitely like to be part of a team for this course for I believe “Knowledge increases by sharing but not by saving”. I do not have much experience in fund raising although i have worked for grant giving organisations. Would love to share and learn more from my peers more on this topic. Look forward for the course commencement.

Yes, I am working for an Organization - co-founder of the Society of African Women in Construction as well as the Brain behind "BRIDGE THE GAP" an initiative am working on right now. In these two NGO's i develop the ideas leading to projects and programs meeting the purpose or goal pf the organization.
My goals are - To know the process and strategies in fund raising to be able to meet the organization goals in empowering the people in my community.
    - To learn how to network with others, run a successful and sustainable NGO.
Yes, I am interested in joining a team because I am a team player as it helps me to understand people of different culture and see things from their perspective.
Well my experience in this course is that for me to raise fund, basically i go to an individual, usually it could be someone I know or someone i know through another person as long as i realize he or she has affinity for the project am embarking on. I approach the person, explain what my plan or project is all about and if he/she owns a company, i tell him or her the benefit of partnering with me or sponsoring the program'project. Most times their benefit comes via publicity of the company via print materials, media, website . if your program meets the company social responsibility policy then they will be moved to contribute.
Also i go to family members and friends to support. i also get volunteers and i do appreciate their time.

Yes, with regards to experience, when i have an initiated program or project i check out organization with social responsibility close to my project and i write to them requesting for sponsorship or partnership while listing out their benefit which usually is publicity via print media

I am Richard A. Ugbe from Nigeria. Presently, I am the President/Executive Director, Anti-Suicide Global Initiative (ASGI), Nigeria. My goals are: 1. To acquire skills on how to raise funds for my organization, 2. Places I can go to be able to raise funds, 3. How to Begin a fundraising project. Yes, I am very much interested in joining a team. I have little experience. We normally generate appeal fund letters/envelopes and distribute them to people around. And then go back later to collect them from those we have shared the envelopes or letters with. We used to organized open voluntary contributions. Lastly we used to approached banks for them to generate soft code for us. People can transfer any little amount as their own contribution through this soft code.

My name is Shane Wright. I am joining this course from Kingston, Jamaica. The organization I am working with is an Entertainment and Arts Development Company I founded in 2014. I guess that makes me the Founding President & Executive Director. My main goal in doing this course is to gain insight on how to properly raise funds in aid of helping others to develop their talents in the industry. It is challenging to do fundraising without the right tools to do it and I think if it is not done in a way that is effective, we would be wasting time and energy achieving nothing.
I am interested in joining a team for this course as it should aid in the success of meeting the learning objectives. The only experience I can recall is the failed attempt at raising funds for my tuition in the past three years. I am still assessing where I went wrong in all the planning. Some of the factors included the time of the event, lack of aggressive promotion and marketing, and not many people were talking about the event. As part of getting it right the next time, I decided to take a course in fundraising.

Hi Shane. I'm looking forward to join the course with you. Let's learn how to achieve a lot without wasting time.

  • Hi everybody, my name is Kristina Baum and I'm joining from the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Originally I'm from Germany but since September 2018 I'm volunteering for Transcape NPO. A few months ago I started with my own project called tinyteenyhands. I focused on the early child development of environmental pollution. We began to teach the children in a playful way the importance of a green planet. The children have started to be very interested in this topic. And now their parents actually the whole village want to learn more about environmental pollution. My goal is to open a recycling company in the village.
I'm keen to work in a team to get new inspirations and ideas. I don't have any experience with fundraising.

Hello everyone , my name is Sanelisiwe and I am from Zimbabwe. I am currently a volunteer at an NGO called Zimbabwe Women Lawyers Association which works with women and children giving them access to much needed legal services. I am a lawyer by profession and currently volunteering while I continue to job hunt, I felt it was a more useful way to spend my time considering how passionate I am about the indigent of society and the vulnerable such as women and children. I am excited to enroll for courses like this one as I too would one day like to establish my own organization for young women and girls and I am hoping to focus on the lack of mentorship being faced in my community. I do not have any experience and I am keen to work in a team as this will aid in the learning process.

I am looking to learning with you all. This course is going to boost my understanding in the area of fundraising since I am in the Non-profit field and we rely so much on fundraising.
This is not my first time on this platform. I have taken a course before by Dr. Tom Wolf which is focused on ''connecting with Donors''. After the course, i bought all the books written by the instructor and from that day, I have been directly involved in fundraising for the NGO i work for. I have tremendously improved in the ''how'' of telling our story to prospects and donors. Recently in July of 2018, Barack Obama recognized the work we do in East Africa during the Mandela Lecture and it is continuing to be an inspiring journey. I am here again to learn more and be equipped for other greater tasks ahead.
Much respect to all the people who value learning. It is the best we can do for ourselves!
