Unrealistic targets.

Unrealistic target is a target that is not supported by a data.Targets are unrealistic and unattainable if you have never performed at the target level or there is no evidence it can reach the target. Usually the target has been set out of pure optimism.

Signs your goals are unrealistic:

There is no internal consensus around the validity of the target – some people may not be sure where the target came from
The target is set far beyond a reasonable range based on past performance and baseline data
The target was set by someone other than a subject matter expert.
