Hi all, I’m Susan from Connecticut USA, I have a B.S. in Consumer Economics from University of Massachusetts and M.S. in Nonprofit Philanthropy for Bay Path University. I’m about to retire and would like to start consulting small NPOs about their fundraising and business management objectives, as many small NPOs struggle with limited staffing and knowledge of NPO best practices. My goal here is to refresh my knowledge of the basics and learn from other classmates who are starting NPOs or are working at small NPOs about their challenges and successes. I’ve worked at higher levels of well established NPOs for the past nearly 30 years but it’s been a long time since I’ve worked in an entry level position—I want to become familiar with that perspective again!

I want to learn more on fundraising so as to help effectively raise funds for the organizational and my personal projects, and for the Foundation am looking to start in the near future to support Vulnerable children especially women who are victims of abuse, discrimination and sexual exploitation. My name is Isabella Masinde from Kenya. I am an Environmentalist with special interest in the whole area of environmental degradation caused by biodiversity loss, climate change and pollution.
I work as a Consultant, helping organizations and communities find links to people who can support them to restore degraded lands and in turn strengthen their livelihoods once the ecosystems and habitats improve. Right now l am focusing on supporting communities in the coastal areas of Kenya to restore degraded mangrove forests, by supporting tree nursery establishment and actual planting. I also support conservation work that includes incorporating privately owned farms that are degraded so that they can engage in agroforestry that encourages growing trees for business, including carbon trading. I encourage farmers to includes high-value crops such as avocado, coconut, cashewnuts, macadamia, mangoes, jackfruits, moringa, neem, passion fruits and other crops like pulses. I am an Advisor on Environmental Policy and Climate Change to the Government of Kenya and l prepare proposals for communities and organizations. I am interested in learning about the new tools that will guarantee that my proposals will fly.
