  • My name is Isabella Masinde from Kenya. I am an Environmentalist with special interest in the whole area of environmental degradation caused by biodiversity loss, climate change and pollution.
    I work as a Consultant, helping organizations and communities find links to people who can support them to restore degraded lands and in turn strengthen their livelihoods once the ecosystems and habitats improve. Right now l am focusing on supporting communities in the coastal areas of Kenya to restore degraded mangrove forests, by supporting tree nursery establishment and actual planting. I also support conservation work that includes incorporating privately owned farms that are degraded so that they can engage in agroforestry that encourages growing trees for business, including carbon trading. I encourage farmers to includes high-value crops such as avocado, coconut, cashewnuts, macadamia, mangoes, jackfruits, moringa, neem, passion fruits and other crops like pulses. I am an Advisor on Environmental Policy and Climate Change to the Government of Kenya and l prepare proposals for communities and organizations. I am interested in learning about the new tools that will guarantee that my proposals will fly.
    I am super-excited to be part of this community.
