I work with Tata Trusts based out of India.
We usually start our budgeting exercise in November itself. We are into Health, Nutrition, Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Education, Skills, and other digital initiatives.
The reason that we start our budgeting exercise early is that our Trustees meet every January to sign on the budgets, and they have enough time to review the budgets with the help of Senior Management. All the budgets with the required suggestions/comments/modifications are accepted on the discretion of our Trustees before March.

MHT uses incremental budgeting as it has been in existence for a while and have existing data on the costs, they use this method as it consumes less time and it is easy to agree on. They combine this with the bottom up approach by approaching individual program managers who submit their draft budget which is later combined into an operating budget. they use this method to attain a level of accuracy in estimation.
