  • Module 5: Discussion

Premortem is like an early warning signs of problems or failure, problems do not just happen abruptly, they are preceded by some signs. Our inability to detect and act on these signs is why problems usually caught us unaware.

  • Premortems are crucial as they help the researcher/organization take steps backwards and create various scenarios of possible project failure and then identify mitigation strategies to manage these challenges.

  • This is true.
Any organization out to solve problems would not want to create more. Putting systems thinking also in place these problems are handled before they become realities.

  • A very important step in any strategy. Taking a step back and investing a moment to carefully analyze the list of potential scenarios that might hinder implementation is a much better way to go about things as opposed to having to deal with them later on the course of the implementation.

  • It is important for us to always be aware of and take care of the problems before they happen and after they happen so that we can confirm more and find solutions to the things that have happened and those that we think may not come by imagining what has happened before.
