I think one of the biggest challenges to improving impact in this pillar is transitioning from paper based data collection and dispersed systems to a more unified computerized system or application for collecting data that is developed specifically for the needs of the nonprofit. This could be costly and may involve a bit of a learning curve for volunteers who are not necessarily tech savvy. I think data collection should be automated as much as possible in order to avoid the margin of human error.

Agreed. Bringing technology in the systems and processes of MEL is a game changer. However, as a start, there are certain tools that are available at lower costs/free of cost and can be utilized for collecting the data.

MEL is a continuous learning process since our geo-political environment can change, our access to resources might change and we may have a different strategy to achieve our mission in the long run as and when we keep getting more clarity about problem statements, hence being flexible to change our approaches and bringing new ways of MEL in the org is necessary.
