The best practice I learned is that social media can actually activate "fundraising advocates". Before, I am apprehensive of telling my friends or networks to support the cause of my NGO because I thought that if they would like to help financially, they would even without me telling them. But it should be the other way around.
I learned to activate or prime my social media network prior to launching a crowdfunding activity so they are informed and prepared to give.

indeed, they serve as guarantors and character qualification should you be questioned or doubted
To make it more personal is better than pointing out facts!

And this is so important!
That one should not only use this tool to ask for fund but a tool to be used to give audience more information on the work that you do and an opportunity to be a part of something important and build a community

I would say the thing that surprised me most was the point where crowdfunding is way more than just creating a quick page to ask for moola... It is a small proposal in itself, just focused more on people than organisations.
I learnt that social media is actually one of the best ways to activate our existing network of friends and followers to help us reach out to people that we could not do it on our own. And making advocates for our causes.
Social media should be a tandem with crowdfunding or online fundraising. Its not only "donate with us", but a powerful tool to engage your donors, followers and friends on your cause. This is also a tool to shows tell your stories.
I have learnt that I can use crowd funding to harness the potential of bigger grants funding because they look for growth.
Social media is the platform to use to attract millenniums because that is where they are in numbers as they interact online so they want to be engaged . Social media is also the best way to reach out to a larger audience
I would definitely be using social media as a form of crowd fundraising in future, i have not yet had to use social media but I have a feeling it is going to happen sooner than later.
The best social media practice of crowdfunding is to create your personal website as NGO
I learnt that social media can be used to build a sense of belonging and can be used to build awareness about your organisation. It can also be a means to ask questions, start conversations and increase participation on your social media platforms, of course it is also a good way for online fundraising.
I learned that social medias can connect me with more donors, even those from other countries

I equally agree with your opinion and feel social media like FB and WhatsApp, Instagram, etc are good resources to raise funds to support our community driven needs.

This can be resourceful if you are able to create one though sharing with others is great based on the donors mapping.

Yes. Irrespective of the social media you choose and build up the bits and pieces for your target supporters, it is a good tools that displays and tell it all about your work. your argument is credible to me.

The choice of a social media and the target donors are key information I picked. How one uses the social media provides opportunities to attract those interested in your cause thus the important lessons I learnt from this module.

In today's world, use of social media and digital technology are the guiding tools for successful crowdfunding instead of conventional email and written letters.
I think the crowdfunding is good medium to collect the funds for variety of programs without involvement of any lengthy process but depends on the methodology you adopted i.e.
For any charity works social media is good medium to collects funds but in religious or political matters, the use of social media is less effective in third world countries and prefer to collection through in person.

Use stories to communicate our work. A story needs to provide a trajectory. Convert emotions into giving.
what i learnt new from the podcast is that volunteers can be fundraisers too, especially those who have moved on to new countries or locations

Well the best practice is how to engage the donors and fundraising advocates to me its really needs one to be creative and innovative but also the bit that online funding cant always go alone you need some small off line funding. On the implementation I have not done much may be I started asking some of the donors what they think about our work.

That's right I also like the fact that social media fundraising is not limited to one's physical location.

Two elements were interesting to me:
This second strategy I implemented some years ago. We develop a campaign, related to a big event, with the participation of several well-known chefs. They were talking for two weeks about the cause (supporting children without family) and then participate in an event to close de fundraising campaign.

It sounds easy, but I find challenging to maintain the conversation, the constant interaction with my audience. Build community is for me the key of all the process to gain support for my project, and sometimes I do not know how to keep the focus in the interaction and produce the effect of belonging we need.
I learned that storytelling is one key, I want to experiment more with that.

Getting support from the "tribe" is a interesting way of wording this I think.
I agree templates and tools are the key to successful requirements gathering.
