Hi everyone. I am Nanen Gangese from Benue State, Nigeria.

I am the Benue State Coordinator for the Society For Water and Sanitation (NEWSAN).

It's really nice to be here and connect with experts in the development sector from different countries. I am an M&E Expert, and am currently working on a project covering many local government areas in Benue State as an M&E Officer. This course has really helped to improve my knowledge of M&E, and I wish to connect with other experts to develop more skills and as well share my knowledge of M&E with others.

Welcome to the Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning community of practice! My name is Jason and I’m a community manager here at Philanthropy University.

Please use this topic to introduce yourselves to everyone else in the community. What is your name? Where do you live? Where do you work? What is your role? Why did you choose to join this community?

Hi Everyone, My name is Ugochukwu Nwosu, currently lead a nextgen Digital Market Research Firm, GETJAMA Limited. With over 13 years designing, implementing and managing Social Investment programs for Fortune 500 organizations, we have set up a platform that support organizations and individuals to collect, store and manage their program data as well as get community feedback in real-time. I joined this community to support where I can and also learn how others keep track of their work.

Learn more about our platform here https://www.getjama.com

    Welcome Ugochukwu!

GETJAMA seems incredible! We here at Philanthropy University could actually probably use it as well :) . For the benefit of other learners in this community, can you share how a local non-profit organization could benefit from GETJAMA's services?

Hi Jason. Thanks for your question about NEWSAN.
The Society for Water and Sanitation (NEWSAN) is a national non-governmental network of civil society, non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations in Nigeria that deal with issues of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the country. The activities of NEWSAN mainly include but are not limited to policy advocacies to government at all levels in the country on issues of WASH in the country, sensitization of different focused groups and the general public on WASH issues, capacity building of our members including other key stakeholders and implementation of projects and programmes to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goal 6. We also partner with relevant government ministries, departments and agencies, sister organizations, corporate entities and individuals to implement our activities that seek to contribute to the overall SDG 6 in the country.

  • Hello everyone my name is Modupe Ativie and I live in Port Harcourt Nigeria. After 12 years experience in training, learning & development and human capacity building, I set up my own management consultancy to continue to offer these services. I am not currently involved with any NGO. However one thing that has bothered me for a while is the growing incompetence of teachers in Nigeria, especially those in the public schools. My heart bleeds thinking about the quality of children these schools would churn out if the teachers themselves dont know much. My passion now is to use what i'm good at to help by reaching out to leaders in the educational sector to derive and design programmes to help them improve on the job, while increasing the standards for the teacher selection process, not to prevent people from becoming teachers, but including practical ways they can improve on themselves so they can give more to the children they teach.

  • Hello, my name is Anette, I am from Germany. Since 2010 I tried to become a change maker with impact on global challenges. I attended all previous courses here and some other MOOCs. Since 2014 I created social innovations (sustainable, scalable and transferable concepts) and already achieved impact/positive change in help for refugees, civic society engagement, education and more ... now I would like to create a concept to help Africans to survive and start-up in their countries based on my education concept. For Germany and in future for Africa, I need to learn about monitoring and evaluation of our impact. So far it is quite easy, because the impact and progress is obvious and can be followed daily. Some international scientists do interviews with us and with our learners. But I need to improve my knowledge in this field.

Please use this topic to introduce yourselves to everyone else in the community. What is your name? Where do you live? Where do you work? What is your role? Why did you choose to join this community?

    Hi everyone.

Am Abatan Abiodun Adeleke, from Abuja Nigeria. I am a Veterinarian by training but work as a Survey and Data collection Consultant.

I intend to learn more about M&E that would help enhance my knowledge and skills in the field.

    To also seek better opportunities.

  • Hi everyone,

My name is Julie and I am currently living in Uganda (and loving it!). I am a teacher at a secondary school (I teach maths) but am looking to move out of teaching soon(ish!). I have a Master of International Crisis Management from Monash University and have completed several long-term volunteer assignments (in the Philippines and in Samoa). I have just completed the Planning: M&E course and it was fantastic! I learned so much and really, really enjoyed it in the process! The course has been so well put together and is jam-packed with information. I love having to do assignments to test what you have learnt about as well. I am now keen to work my way through all of the courses on Philanthropy University and am very excited about joining this community! Lovely to meet you all!
