The challenging part in the budgets especially on Government Grants are that its not always that what you have budgeted is equal to the disbursements, sometimes the Funds given will be less your application which now leaves you with the readjusting your budget to fit into the money given.
Prepare the Budget
the challenging part in fund raising proposal is budget breakdown part, because some times funders may not state the amount they are going to donate.
i think if we try to answer the what, where, when, how and why questions the drafting of the objective will be easier
the strategy in fund raising proposal is to follow the recommendations stated in the course: introduction, need statement, Goals & objectives, description of program, capacity show and monitoring and evaluation
i would say project budgeting is the most challenging part for me and how to determine a budget for project that is relatively new.
the strategy that i liked the most, that to have letter for recommendation from other partners or funders who previously worked with.
it was not really challenging. I have learnt to write a precise abstract
the hardest part for me is filling in real world forms using the strategies discussed here...they do not always have the space to clearly define problem statement, objectives etc.
A strategy I will use is checking eligibility and guidelines very carefully before applying
Budget setting is what I found little challenging.
Objectives part because you have to point at specifics which is very difficult
It was a great to learn a proper way of proposal writing.
making sure to invest time into the donor to find out their interests and how those interests align with the organization.
The most challenging part to write the fundraising proposal is the solutions and the budgets.
One of my strategy to write the fundraising proposal is to have the logical framework first
good to know
yes I am agree with that
The most challenging is writing the introduction.
The best way to write is to be as simple as possible and write in less technical terms.
I agree with you.
Lack of organisation to apply the knowledge acquired is the major challenge

The most challenging part is writing the executive summary or abstract. Condensing everything into a few paragraphs.
Agreed. Introducing and summarizing the projects can be challenging.
True, I think budget requires an expert and I think it is good to do this with the officer in charge of finance in the organization.
Budget development is the most difficult one for me and my strategy is to involve an accountant from my organization. I also think in order to have a clear objective, outcome and output it is important to develop a logical framework first.
I guess the best way is to do homework and see what the funder is all about - this way a project can be created that fits the funders as well as our organizations need. It's easy if you have building projects, but harder when it's about teaching. The budgeting part is quite challenging.
The proposal shall help make the goals to be succeeded
The proposal writing is very important
Very best
Yes this subject is very helpful
the objectives part is somewhat challenging
One of the things I find hard is keeping proposals only to the essential pre work through desk research in, keeping to the core information and integrating innovative sustainability approaches
Detailed crafting of competitive strategy and approach, social impact organizations can also explore complementary partnerships on bids
Detailed desk research can help guide a compelling narrative methodology
Collaborations with community stakeholders and volunteer can support justification for buy-in, ownership and sustainable impact of a methodology
how best can i draw up a budget
The goals and objectives part needs to have worked a lot on the solution to the problem to be able to know
how long the effort will take, who is doing what, what is needed to be done, who is really benefitting, and what are good measures of success.
Next time I will talk to the organization and stakeholders to find the answers to all the questions before writing the proposal
Coming up with a shorter and straight forward need statement was a challenge. However, this module the problem is completely solved.
I support your idea
The most challenging was to identify the organization to request for funding, then when it comes to writing the proposal the abstract and stating objectives was also challenging
One strategy that i will use is to ensure i have communicated the objectives in a very clear and concise way in the first paragraph to communicate to the person reading my proposal .
The goal and objectives section, creating SMART objective was quite challenging.

Not having access to local Demographics was/continues to be a problem when writing grant proposals. Many companies want to know what population we are serving.

My challenging part is the statement problem. Having to summarize the lot into a very little but comprehensive proposal.
Going forward will always keep my proposal concise but comprehensive
You will improve soon with continued practice
Abstract for sure
What I found most challenging in proposal writing is the problem statement because one has to convince a donor to believe that the problem you are trying to solve or gap you are trying to fill is worthy of sponsorship.
To improve on this, I believe it is necessary to provide evidence to support one's argument.
You can have access through the local government authority, I think.
That's a good way to go.
I agree with you. Conducting research helps one to provide empirical evidence and it enhances the credibility of one's proposal
Putting the proposal together
The objective part is challenging and also the budget part
can compare only with a virtual organisation in place
The most challenging part according to me is to understand what the project seems to achieve and how it does so at the end of certain time period.
The strategy is to be concise and as clear as possible when writing the problem statement, and the targets
The abstract was also challenging, breakdown the objective from the main goal was also challenging, in the end the fun thing is that some we forget to mention the certain amount in numeric that is needed to accomplish the goal.
yes true that
writing the proposal
The most challenging part of fundraising proposal writing is the abstract; this is because it has to be stated in such a way that it will capture the attention of the funder
when you need to concrete all the information on a simple page is so challenging because you need to priorities all the information and understand what is the most important

The most challenging part was the abstract for me
I agree with you,the problem statement was a challenge for me. I actually had the problem in mind, but writing it down as a concise statement was challenging
The most challenging part of fundraising proposal writing is the abstract; this is because it has to be stated in such a way that it will capture the attention of the funder
My challenge has been keeping it simple, clear and concise. Avoiding unecessary information. Understandinga sticking only to information that the donor want.
Good evening,
The most challenging part of writing the proposal for me was the abstract. It took a while for me to fully understand exactly what is the abstract and what goes into it. Once, I allowed my brain to fully understand what was required it became very easy to complete.
One strategy I will use in the future is to not to over think the proposal and write more brief sentences. Less of long sentences, the proposal is easier to understand. Overthinking the proposal, you can lose yourself in the proposal and miss out on writing a good proposal. I have learned to relax and be patient. If I am unable to get all thoughts together, I take a break and come back to the proposal when my thoughts are more clear and focused.
Good evening,
I agree. It was the most difficult part for me also to complete.
Good evening,
I agree with your statement.
I am learning to write more clear and short sentences. It is best to get to point without adding unnecessary language to the proposal.
I agreed with you. Is important to be precise and specific.
I agreed with you and is important for the donors.
The most challenging part for me in writing a proposal was in constructing a shorter and concise Problem statement .I think in the future I should gather as many as possible information and summarize them to a more specific and concisely
Oooh, very sorry my Friend, however the object should be "smart" :S=specific, measurable, attainable, rated and time bound
The most challenging part is the abstract part, because I have to be brief but still describe my project in details that any reader can understand exactly what I intend to do.
I will use the same design of abstract in my future proposal, I have learnt from the course that "the shorter the proposal is the better"
1: What was the most challenging part of writing a fundraising proposal and why?
2: What is one strategy that you will use when writing fundraising proposals in the future?
The most challenging part is compacting the proposal into three pages when you think you have a lot to write.
The strategy I hope to use in future is understanding what the donor wants and planning and start writing early.
I know the abstract seems to be so short. However you should know that the one who is going to read your proposal wants exactly that. So you need to continue learning how to summarize your work, you should be good.
I know when you have a lot and all that is needed is just so little. Please don't forget that your aim in this proposal is to get you that funding.
Please revise the proposal reading and listen again and again to Tom's podcast in the module 3 of this course you will pick it up.
The budget was so complex for me.
formulating objectives is too challenging. one needs to think deeply

I want to know more about crowdfunding
when writing a proporsal in future, I will make sure that my problem statement and objectives are well stated
problem statement ought to be concise because readers needs to understand the problem you are trying to solve and they do not have enough time to be reading your voluminous proposal that is too difficult to be understood

when your problem statement and objectives are well stated, summarizing to come out with a perfect abstract will not be much difficult
My name is Suleiman Bukar, founder and Executive Director of North East Youth Peace Ambassadors Network, nice to be here, I am a Nigerian
Propose a objective is challenging
I agree. By doing this, you are able to meet the donor desire and is easier to get funded from targeted donors.
1: What was the most challenging part of writing a fundraising proposal and why?
Putting into words what happens in the projects to try to create a sufficiently clear image of what is done, so that someone outside the organization supports, is not always easy. It must be clear, precise, concise, and impactful. It is a challenge.
2: What is one strategy that you will use when writing fundraising proposals in the future?
Try to use all the tools this course has given us. Be more aware of specific points needed to include.

Understanding and differentiating between what capacity statement meant in relation to obejectives and goals been a new intiative was a little challenging.

A donor will want to know if you have other donors, grants or funding resources. Not only does this alleviate some of the risk the one donor will take on, it shows that others are interested and have committed to the project, so include this information.

The most challenging part is explaining the abstract or introduction. After the introduction is written, I found it very challenging adding an explanation of short paragraph.
In the future I will research thoroughly to identify the problem to be solved, so as to align with the focus of the funding agency.
