After taking this course we will commit;
This is just a few things.
Hi.
Getting someone to fund your operating costs is a good place to be for any nonprofit. All the best!
I also believe working with the team is a good place to begin. Anyone can be a fundraiser or knows a donor. The course indeed provides a good systematic approach to fundraising. Good luck!
Hi Moses,
You seem to have grabbed all there was in the course. I am thinking as well that we have to polish up our vision and mission to properly reflect the direction we are taking. All the best!
Hi,
It would be great to have stories from beneficiaries as part of your history especially as you plan to showcase this to potential donors. all the best!
I have done Fundraising in the past but did not understand the hows and whys due to a pandemic that got in the way. it was a terrible experience that caused me to shy away from this form of nonprofit work. I am hoping to move back into community engagement and look forward to taking more classes.
i am motiveted and the actions i going to do is to me
WOW!!!
I'm on my way to become a star fundraiser. I have learnt a lot even in just two modules, so much that I can't wait to start Tom Wolf's other Philanthropy University courses, Fundraising: Connecting with Donors and Fundraising Strategies.
My action plans includes learning more and continous implementation. I already did my network mapping, and later this month, I will identify five possible donors that are good fit for my organization.
I love this course, it is so practicable. Thank you Tom Wolf, Thank You Philantrophy University
Yes, I agree with you. Finding someone who will be dediucated to this course is very key, as well as ensuring that everyone has a grasp of fundraising, and they get involved.
I never knew that there was a lot to fundraising. I thought is just to identify someone who has money and get them to contribute towards the organization.
No i know that there are donors all around me. All I will need to do is to identify those who have a good fit with my organization and get them to support my organization.
After completing this course i strongly believe; i will be able to use the funding methodologies and try to make it applicable in my organization.

This month I will hold my first small scale fundraiser.

I would take action by researching the cause, setting a fundraising goals, and creating a campaign page with a clear message and to action
What I understand so far from this course
What is fundraising
Fundraising is the process of soliciting support for a cause, the cause intended to make the world a better place. it is not about demanding money for a conventional business enterprise or enriching investors or company owners or shareholders of an organisation.
Myths 1: Fundraising is only about getting cash; we use the term in-kind donations to describe those that are not cash contributed. As we are just as successful if we get the things that the cash was supposed to purchase.
Myths 2: Raising money is all about knowing rich people; fundraising is about finding support even asking a close circle like families and friends, the more donors you find the more funding you can get
Myths 3: One person give while the other receives; it transaction in which each side gives something to the other in some cases, when you ask for support, is that you are offering a partnership where both sides have something to gain. Always think of what you will provide for the donor.
Myths 4: Tell a donor as much about your organisation or project as possible; in conversation with a donor is a chance to find out as much as you can about them and let them talk, look and listen when you are with a donor to find their areas of interest in advance.
Myths 5: Statistics and facts are the only things that matter; donors like to hear success stories not just facts but contributed impacts to people's lives,
Myths 6: A great fundraising is a superstar and works alone; fundraising is about leveraging all team abilities, achieving success is organizing a good team sport,
Myths 7: The Internet has completely changed how we do fundraising; remember that even if you go online to fundraise you still need to plan, strategize, identify prospects, follow up and court donors, design compelling materials, keep your websites up to date, collecting stories, recording keeping, reporting, servicing donors, acknowledging gifts.
Im going to do an fundraising event this month in my city to my children foundation.
I have identified new donors.
Completely agree with this sentiment. Gaining a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of fundraising and how to strategically align your organization's mission to those partners that share in the same is the key to further expanding the network. Thank you for making courses like this feasible to those looking to make a difference throughout the globe.
In the next month, I will take more fundraising courses.
This is also an exciting topic.
The main priority for me at the moment is to learn more about effective strategies of fundraising. The course has already helped me adjust the vision of our communication strategy and the overall understanding of fundraising. I am excited to learn more and apply the things learn in my work
Me too. There is lots to learn.
In the next month I will enroll in more courses to learn more about connecting with donors. I will also focus on having the organization's material ready to share with potential donors.
If all goes well, in the next few months I will set up a fundraising team, apply all the myths I have learned, and probably start fundraising at the end of the year. In the meantime, I could take more courses on fundraising.
After studying this course, I have placed myself in the driver's seat. What I will be working on is getting the right passengers onboard using the seven myths of fundraising .
I am glad to be here
I will defintely take more Tom Wolfs courses as well as identify some more donors.
The course has been very informative and practical. It has certainly proven that fundraising starts with having clarity on the mission (activity) which you wish to contribute to and motivation in supporting it. All this is within the reach of every person. Happy fundraising to everyone!
