  • My name is Anita, I have an NGO in Nigeria for sickle cell disorder, and I want to learn the best ways to raise funds for my organization to support members' needs.
I am most excited to learn how to fundraise from people around my circle and to know what people are most afraid of when asked for support.

  • Hi there, my name is Marjan and I am from Canada. I work in the Youth Employment Programs department for a non-profit organization. Because I work for a non-profit, my department relies heavily on receiving funding from outside sources. Although we have a fundraising department, it is very small with staff who are overwhelmed with the workload that they have. My goal is to learn about fundraising strategies so I can begin implementing them in my role and raising funds for my program since we are going into a deficit in our budget. I'm excited to be able to bring in funds so we can provide wrap-around supports to our youth participants who are facing barriers to accessing employment, mental health services, childcare, schooling, housing, etc.

  • Hello everyone, I am Robertson B. Davids from Liberia, West Africa. I work for the Center for Justice and Peace Studies, a non-governmental organization that is working to promotes and maintain peace here in Liberia, after a 14 year of devastating, unprofitable civil unrest in the country.
In this organization, I work as the monitoring, evaluation and learning-MEL officer, and program assistant.
Our work has four thematic areas that focus on issues of; Governance, Youth Abusing Drug and Harmful Substances, Growing Number of Street Children, and Sexual/Gender Based Violence, in the country.
My goal for this course is to acquire new acknowledge and skills that will enable me to help my organization that we will not always be waiting for call for proposal before we can run the organization. Over the time, this has affected us as an institution, where in when project ends, we will have nothing happening at the offices until after sometimes then we can get up again. All these are II it to be attributed to not have the requesite skill and knowledge to fundraise on our own as an entity, the basic skill, knowledge and connections are not there.
I am excited about this course because I see it as an opportunity to explore, I believe from here there will be a different at my entity in term of organization sustainability, considering what I read from the introductory phase of the course.
Looking unto meeting my expectation, as this is not my first time taking a course from Philanthropy U. I got my foundamental knowledge in M&E from right here, and now I am on the top in this subject.
Thanks for the services you keep rendering to the public.
