  • I think that, Equity and mutual benefits were demonstrated in the partnership process rather trust and relationship, communication & transparency and equity were not respected. If both the partners had more transparency, commitment and accountability about the partnering processes then it would help to build the trust between the partners.

  • I think that, Equity and mutual benefits were demonstrated in the partnership process rather trust and relationship, communication & transparency and equity were not respected. If both the partners had more transparency, commitment and accountability about the partnering processes then it would help to build the trust between the partners.

  • There is largely a communication gap. They both need to stop feeling and start talking so the issues can be addressed.

  • Communication , Commitment and Accountability

  • There was no equity because MAXLT and UNCPP both had different opinions when in relation to how the resources were distributed.
Communication was in discord because both parties complained yet they did not follow the right channels to address the issues.
Co accountability and commitment was not put into practice because there was some form of blame game taking place.
Trust and Relationship was broken because of the kind of partnership they had i.e. they were not communicating to solve their pressing issues.

  • There is principle of transparency being observed by the two organizations.

  • I think the both partners lack trust and relationship. They obviously have to improve on their communication and transparency proving that they are committed to the partnership and equally accountable to the success of the partnership.

  • Important: share same interests, same value but they have a problem of partneships because MAXLT have not enough study but just based on the trust and relationships only.

  • It sounds like being from different sectors, there is a misalignment of how each partner "works". This isn't an insurmountable problem, but I think each partner needs to be clean and transparent about what is realistic (i.e. the financial process). There also seems to be a lack of commitment from the one partner, and so follow through and consistency is an issue.

  • there seems to be dorminancy by the management team who were just occupying space. they should have been in the forefront putting things in order.

  • The committee that was create didn't function properly, if a committee is create their main function is to resolve the issue before them.

  • The principles of partnership demonstrated are Equity, mutual benefit, commitment and co-accountability.
The principles of partnership not respected are communication, transparency and trust and relationship.

Despite the aligning in this partnership, trust and relationship are not been respected as MAXLT did not trust the financial process of UNCPP. If they both had build a trust worthy relationship, UNCPP might be more flexible in this area, also both parents are supposed to build and agree process together for effective delivery. All agreed processed will then be our together in a signed agreed document as guide for the project delivery.
MAXLT was not transparent with UNCPP in area of human resources or recruitment skill. They should have both identify the strength and weaknesses both parties are bringing in, and this can lead to working with other partners like the Voluntary Service Organisation.

  • Equity is surely not in place. How ever, they also had a bridge in communication. The communication will help build process together which will further lead to transparency. To iron all this out, as learnt that potential conflict needs to be brought to be open, i feel its the right way to go in order to amend any issue araising

  • Trust and relationship and transparency

  • Transparency as well as trust and relationship is the principle that is being built

  • Все прекрасно. Все отлично. Спасибо

  • Clearly they both have aligned interests. But they have poor communication and also lack both equity and transparency.they need to build on their trust and be more opened and respectful

  • You've made valid points here.. I wouldn't agree more

  • You raised a really interesting angle to look at it.. If better communication and transparency was established, MAXLT would have understood the process and structure of the UNCPP

  • Honestly, One of the principles of partnership exhibited here is equity in management. The creation of a six-person steering committee with leaders from both organizations to help monitor the partnership was a good idea for the balance of power in the leadership delegation.

The primary principles not being respected here are lack of communication, transparency and accountability.

Lack of transparency in communication between the two organizations caused MAXLT to feel that UNCPP processes employed in financial payment are slow and ineffective
MAXLT exhibited Lack of accountability and does not keep their word to provide corporate volunteers.

    Steps to follow to ensure adherence to the principle could include;
Proper discussing on partnership risks and challenges
Ensure that each partners interest is aligned toward achieving the intended goals and outcome of the partnership.
Proper communication channel to discuss changes that may affect or influence the partnership project.
Periodic meeting to discuss progress report.

  • There was a communication gap between these two partners who didn't express their concerns to each other. Then the issue of co-accountability where one party felt cheated on the other hand

  • Well articulated principles have to come at for front for effective and reliable partnership that leaves behind dependencies!

  • both parties showed equity, mutual benefit and lacked accountability, transparency, communication. The other did not trust the process of the other hence leading to an issue of transparency by both parties on how the financial operations of their organisations operate. And accountability is also not respected because the other is acting more like a donor instead of a partner.

  • Principles not respected were Communication and accountability. Despite that, MAXLT was acting as a funder and not an active partner as reckoned by UNCPP. UNCPP has to clear the air about their feelings to MAXLT. Besides that, MAXLT has charade their views about the budgets not aligning and possibly any area where they feel like they may need more help to be an active partner. Pertaining to accountability, again what may be impeding the progress all inclusive is failure of MAXLT to supply the volunteer power to UNCPP as it had pledged.

  • They demonstrated the principle of equity. But lack of communication during the partnership, and commitment and co-accountability. Firstly, they come from different sectors; nonprofit used to slow in all aspects, and business use to short vision and less impact driven. Thus, before partnership take place, both side supposed to have a deep communication and set certain rules/ disciplines for this issue. Secondly, MAXLT having commitment problem, UN agency should openly talk to them and search solutions for it.

  • While it is true that the two partners have managed to align their interests, it seems clear that there is a lack of communication between them, which has led to poor coordination and lack of trust.

  • THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN MAXLT AND UNCPP HAS FOLLOWED THE FOLLOWING PARTNERSHIPS:

    1. MUTUAL BENEFIT AS BOTH ARE INTERESTED TO WORK TO FIGHT CHILD LABOR AND IMPROVE
      EDUCATION..COMMON INTEREST.
    2. NOT FOLLOWED COMMUNICATION WHAT EACH PARTNER SHOULD RESPECT EACH OTHER.
    3. TRUST AND RELATIONSHIP IS NOT STRONG AND INSUFFICIENT AS THEY HAD A CONFLICT OF OPINIONS.
    4. EQUITY WAS NOT ESTABLISHED AS IT IS THE UNCPP FEELING THAT MAXLT WORKS LIKE A FUNDER SHOWING
DOMINANCE AND NOT CARING UNCPP STAFF.
    5. TRANSPARENCY VERY POOR WHILE DEVELOPING AND WORKING WITH PARTNERSHIP.
    6. COMMITMENT AND CO-ACCOUNTABILITY IS POOR IN RESOLVING SMALL CONFLICTS RESULTED DURING THE PROCESS.

KEEPING THE MUTUAL INTEREST OF CHILD LABOUR, & THEIR EDUCATION, THE CONFLICTS RAISED BETWEEN MAXLT AND UNCPP CAN BE NEGOTIATED FOR RESOLVING THESE CONFLICTS AND STRENGTHEN POSITIVE PARTNERSHIP FOR MUTUAL BENEFIT AS WELL AS TO THE BENEFICIARIES.

  • To build trust, communication is key. I think each partner should communicate openly and let the other partner understand how they feel. Transparency is vital to help each of the partners understand where they are coming from and where they intend to get at.
The partners need to respect each other's contribution to the partnership by ensuring that their mutual benefits and contributions are appreciated.
For this partnership to work, each of the partners must appreciate the contribution of the other, they need to state clearly what each is bringing to the table. They need to be committed and accountable to each other.

  • The principles being discussed in the above scenario are

    1. Equity because the the UN agency felt the that MAXLT was equal partner in the agreement despite the organization failing to live to the anticipated standards
    2. Trust and relationship: From the scenario given one can simply that the relationship is that not good and at the same time there is no trust among partners
    3. Transparency: there is no transparency among the partners in their dealings which resulted in doubting in the efforts being done by one partner
    4. Communication : Each party has poor communication which leads suspicions growing in the partnership
    5. Mutual benefit: All parties are interested in ending child labor
  • Equity and mutual benefit are principles that are being demonstrated through the steering committee leadership structure, as well as by shared problem that they seek to mitigate. Commitment and accountability and trust and relationship are not being respected due to both parties' inability to deliver and meet what was agreed as part of a relationship. It seems this partnership was poorly negotiated and didn't allow for building a process together that could have led to better embracing and trusting more transparent outcomes, as well as jointly assessing potential conflicts that could affect working together.

  • Demonstrated principle: Equity and mutual benefit

They bot need to work on ensuring that communication is done seamlessly
They are also not transparent enough and so, they need to understand what the challenges are.

  • Communication, Commitment and accountability.
After MAXTL realized that UNCPP process for managing financial payments were slow and inefficient, the leaders from the two organization needed to come together and discuss about this matter openly and come up with a solution on how to ensure that this will be improved and that UNCCP will remain committed and accountable for its role according to the partnership.
On the other hand, MAXTL had promised volunteers which were later on unavailable. This showed lack of commitment for MAXTL since it was not performing its roles as well.
Since UNCCP were unhappy about this, its good for these organization to sort out the conflict by coming to the board and come up strategies on how to maintain their partnership.
Partnership building is a continuous process. The two organizations need some time to know each other well in the process of partnership

  • I definitely agree with the terms.

  • Communication is not there and respect is also not being shown. the main principles are not being respected.

  • I feel like communication was lacking and also an open diplaying of the resources that both organizations were going to provide.

  • The initial defect may be clear because they did not discuss the expected problems, and therefore there may be a defect, but it is easy to find a solution that satisfies both parties if the aspects are divided according to workmanship and before they aggravate.

    1. It is good practice for a steering committee to be established for the partnership as this helps in making decisions quicker and also ensures that each partner's interests and concerns are taken into account when decisions are being made.
    2. Trust, accountability and transparency are not being respected in this partnership. When MAXLT discovered that UNCPP's payment system was slow and inefficient, they should have raised it at the meeting of the Partnership Steering Committee for the issue to be addressed. Similarly, the unhappiness of UNCPP's staff about the corporate volunteers should have informed MAXLT through the Steering Committee. Furthermore, the change in perception or status of MAXLT by UNCPP staff is unacceptable. One cannot make an assumption about a partner without a legal document backing it.
    3. With a Partnership Steering Committee in place, all the afore-mentioned issues could be easily addressed by this committee. For example, the Steering Committee can decide that if the payment system of UNCPP was slow and inefficient, payment of the volunteers could be done using the financial system of MAXLT . Secondly, communication within the partnership needs to be enhanced to avoid the breeding of lack of trust and transparency. Finally, it is not acceptable for UNCPP staff to assume that MAXLT is now a funder and not a partner. This is another issue the Steering Committee can clear the air on.
  • The principles of partnership in this scenario are not being followed correctly. Both MAXLT and UNCPP need to work together to ensure that a mutually beneficial relationship is established. MAXLT should ensure that it meets its commitments, including providing volunteers, and UNCPP should strive to create a more efficient process for managing financial payments. They should also jointly create a clear framework for decision making and ensure that both parties are actively involved in the process. By doing this, both parties can ensure that they are working together in a way that is mutually beneficial and that both parties benefit from the partnership.

  • I believe that the both partners lacked communication and they had trust issues and found it difficult to relate. Because it seems like they were both in for a mutual benefit but when things didnt work out as expected they decided to term the other partner as a funder which makes them lack commitment.

  • This potential partnership seems like it may be transactional. If Literate Punjab wants to use the school's classroom, they should offer to consult for free or at a discounted rate.

  • Based on the fictional example, communication, transparency, commitment and accountability were not being respected. To ensure that these principles can be taken into account, it would be ideal if partners open communication channels to foster dialogue and communicate their experiences and challenges with the partnership. The partnership should be a win-win for all parties, therefore it is essential that partners do what they must to ensure respect, mutual benefit and equality is ensured.

  • I would say equity was respected. They did try and divide up the work fairly. However, communication failed. MAXLT should have voiced their frustrations with money instead they started to withdraw from the relationship, providing money instead of volunteers, which requires more effort. In turn, UCPP staff felt a breakdown in commitment and the relationship withered.

  • Principles being demonstrated
    Mutual benefit
    Equity
    Principles not respected
    Transparency
    Trust and relationship
    commitment and co-accountability

  • Principle of Partnership Demonstrated above: Mutual Benefit

Those not being respected: equity and communication. Equity in the sense that both organizations do not recognize that they bring different resources or value to the partnership, and none is ideally better than the other. Poor communication, in that both parties have failed to communicate effectively and in time to the other partner of any emerging issues that may cause delay such as of payments or procuring volunteers.

  • Principles being demonstrated:

    1. Common Goals
    2. Shared Leadership
    3. Mutual Accountability
    4. Effective Communication

    Principles not fully respected:

    1. Equity and Fairness
    2. Mutual Benefit

Steps to ensure principles are taken into account:

    1. Clarify Roles and Expectations
    2. Ensure Adequate Resource Allocation
    3. Regular Monitoring and Evaluation
    4. Enhance Engagement and Participation
    5. Continuous Communication
    6. Training and Capacity Building
  • The principles of partnership that were respected are equity, mutual benefit and commitment, however communication, transparency and trust were not respected as MAXLT demonstrated lack of trust in the financial process of UNCPP. The UNCPP should have communicated their dissatisfaction with MAXLT regarding the new stuff and they were supposed to have an understanding about which organizations is going to deal with certain tasks. Therefore, these organizations should identify issues that will hinder the project going forward and provide solutions that will help them achieve their goals without making each other feel like they are not in partnership.

  • Communication was lacking in this partnership and as well as trust
