I would be interested to learn more on data usage. In the collection stage there couldn't be more evidence of what data collected from the field exactly represent. But on the usage stage is where data will be us be used to determine the fate of the project. What is the criteria for selecting the final users of our reports? Most projects are compelled to give reports to donors but very few actually do not consider feedback to beneficiaries. Most reports are written in English and there is no efforts to translate the same to local languages. Can one be legally bound to provide reports to specific people/organizations

I think usage is also guided by the objectives of either the project or the data collection itself. Eg one can collect data for M&E and use it for that purpose while another one may collect for research purposed

While there are many software available for data analysis, i think the overall goal ( Objective will be the guiding factor when choosing a data analysis plan. Each software is designed for a specific purpose and some will require considerable expertise eg R statistics. What i have come to learn is that using a statistician can help one get their objectives right. A statistician will advice o the best method of data collection for which type of analysis to meet which objective

I would like to learn more about data quality maintenance from the time of collection to point of analysis. How to balance between human nature of biasness so that data integrity remains even when we don't believe in the response we get from participants
My advice is that data is the bedrock of evidence. If you embrace evidence base approach to project planning and design you will save your self from headache. Data is source determines input and out/outcome. Garbage in, garbage out.

I would like to learn more about evaluation. Of course, evaluation is assessing how well the project is performing or met the strategic objectives of the organization and the benefits accruable to the organization. This is very important because it will assist management in making informed decision. When strategic objectives are met, there is value for money, it boosts business and stakeholder confidence. Unfortunately, in government projects, there is little or no benefit management: post project evaluation to know how that project has impacted or impacting on the beneficiary, challenges, and possible solutions. These are feedbacks that will form the lessons learnt base that will enable government design future projects and have maximum benefit realization

@Arithi I think reports are to help management make informed decision. Written in a language understood by all stakeholders but if opposite is the case, then there will be information gap and everyone will not be on the same page. I am of the view that stakeholder engagement with mode, type and level of communication be well established in every organization for buy-in by all

I would like to learn more about data analysis and use. I believe that not only is gather and entering data is important to learn but being able to analysis and design reports on them is crucial to understanding the whole process. After the data is analyzed, verified and stored, the reports are made and these reports serve as historical evidence for the project that could be used as reference years later. Also, if the results in the report are good ans substantial, these can be used to gather more donors and spread the word of the project's impact. Because of this, I would like to learn more about data analysis and use.

Data management is an administrative process that includes acquiring, validating, storing, protecting, and processing required data to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of the data for its users. It is a broad term that can refer to a role (a data manager), while also referring to an organizational responsibility.
Within the parameters of data management exists responsibility for the entire data life cycle, from collection to consumption. This includes its point of origin (data provenance) and trans-formative journey from origination to current point of reference or observation (data lineage). These attributes are particularly useful in managing data: By describing the journey of a piece of data, visibility becomes available throughout the data pipeline, checks can be monitored, and incidents of compromise or failure can be traced directly to the sources. Data management is often not prioritized as it should, and IT and data engineering may not be a skill set that companies have on premise
