  • Myself Fayaz Ganie from Jammu and Kashmir, currently a Union Territory in India.
My short introduction can be put like this; Fayaz Ganie, an aspiring System Builder where leadership plays a crucial role. I feel current day world is in crisis precisely because of lack of good leadership and statesmen. Plus the absence of system builders has aggravated the situation. We have stopped at democracy and stopped improving it. The result is the democracy has started degenerating, degrading and regressing. We need true leaders, statesmen and system builders to make the improvements, adjustments & overhauls and hope I find some like minded friends here.

  • Hello everyone,

My name is Debra Zeiner. My nickname is Brique. Brique is French for brick. I've had the nickname for decades (literally). I got it because everyone would say "Look - there she goes again putting her head through a brick wall to get what she wants!". Well, stubbornness is positive sometimes. It was definitely positive for me when I decided to not only leave my footprints behind one day - but to have thousands of footsteps following mine. In 2001 I founded Live and Learn in Kenya. As an American living in Germany it was difficult to found a non-profit organization. Actually it is difficult for everyone - because of tax reasons. But we worked on it and were registered. The organization, with the German name "Leben und Lernen in Kenia e.V. - was a huge success from the go. Sad to say - after building a huge orphanage for 140 children, a vocational training school with large kitchen und dining hall - and the beginning of a huge primary school construction - we found out that our partner organization in Kenya was corrupt. We battled through the legal processes - but lost everything to the partner organization because the "director" had put everything in his own name - and owned it all. So we left with our tails between our legs after 6 years of hard work - but we were "allowed" to keep the children... I had been to Kenya and had an appointment with the Secretary of State. (to be honest, I thought she was the Vice-President's secretary...) who told me that it was imperative to found a Kenyan organization with myself at the chairwoman. So that is what we did - Live and Learn in Kenya International. We went on to buy land belonging to the organization, built a school, a kindergarten, a modern kitchen and huge dining/multi-purpose hall, an administration building with offices for our project manager and social worker, day clinic, and my heart's desire - a library. We are now in the process of building a vocational training college. Our motto is "Education is the key to the future" and we are doing our best to provide quality "keys" to children who may have never been able to go to school at all. If you want to know more about LLK, please visit our website at: www.llk-selb.de It is in English and in German.
