indeed!! fantastic
Agree!! never done before, but will!
Create a community of donors using social media
I really enjoyed this assignment. I 've learned a lot from this course.
This assignment is my favorite. I learned a lot and I now understand crowdfunding.
Hello everyone, I have finished this course and need for someone to review my work in the assignments for modules 3 and 4. Could someone review my work please.
Thank you,
DéLise
I never knew the importance of social media for getting people to be aware of your cause and help build a community. Kavita's tips on how to do successful crowdfunding campaigns were invaluable. Going to print out and read again!
It's amazing course
The social media can bring people together and support a common course of action
Very informative and beneficial!
I learned that social media can be the easiest way of reaching the donors.
No, I don't have any experience
It is a real creative challenge to put on an online proposal a more emotional and personal side
I found the multiple ways she mentioned about using the social media, emphasizing the engagement to the detriment of donation itself, the most important part. In addition, there were interesting insights on what paying attention to when it comes to choosing the platform.
I agree! She underscores such a range of different aspects of social media that I haven't thought before.
I learned that i held onto a misunderstanding about the use of social media, that is thinking i could convert contacts into donors.
Good point. From what i have learnt i actually knew very little about crowdfunding.
I've learnt the importance of clarity and brevity when writing proposals, why clear goals and objectives are crucial to funders. How to budget and evaluate your programs, and finally, how to run a successful fund raising
Mostly importantly use any available media and time to convert into fundraising opportunities
I have learnt that both media are equally important online and offline
I have no experience about the matter and this course really help me to have new skills
technology is making easier to connect the world
the course is new and i learnt many issues how to use crowdfunding
I really liked the story and how important to make personalized and have a beneficiary tell the story of transformation because of the intervention of the project.
I learnt that crowd funding is not about wealthy donations but small donations that come from a community connected together through the social media.
This module has helped me to understand where to start with Crowdfunding and how to integrate social media strategy into this.
I don't know that we can create quiz for our fan page and make crowdfunding an interesting task.
I learned a proper manner for crowdfunding using social media and I'll be using this technique in my organization. It was really helpful.
I learned what crowdfunding is. I didn't know that it was all online. But I learned a lot from this module.
create awareness
Yes I had an experience with that
I have learnt that when creating a good story you need to have a individual with an effective character or a hero, the you have to connect the individual to the entire community, the story has to have a trajectory and to raise emotions for audience to connect and give towards the story.
Yes I had an experience with that
I really enjoyed the fact of giving yourself a deadline of 48h to thank donors and to use social media to engage with the people.
Social media is a great tool for advocacy and spreading awareness.
We used our social media to gain a base of supporters then we direct messaged them asking for support during our campaign.
The insights on crowdfunding were very informative. Getting donors with a compelling story was very useful for me. I am glad to see that I envisioned Social Media the same way it should be used.
Welcome to Fundraising on the Internet. Have you ever wondered why some online fundraising campaigns succeed while others fail? The answer might surprise you. Up next, Tom interviews Kavita Matthews, a crowdfunding expert who helps non-profit leaders in India to maximize the success of their online fundraising campaigns. Kavita has a lot of great tips to share, including how to use social media and your existing networks effectively.
Crowdfunding is a good subject
So what do you learn from all the topics learnt
Social is used to connect societies with each other...and also used to initiate for fund rasing
I really loved the tip Kavita gave about engaging social media users to develop a community, I love responding to polls on instagram for celebrities that I follow and I would definetly engage in this if I saw it as a feature used by a charity!
The importance of social media in crowdfunding is undeniable ,but it mostly depends on how effective you use social media networks.
Exploring diverse platforms and integrating a persuasive narrative to reflect qualitative and quantitative analysis of problem statement
i learned a lot from this module.
helps to reach out to the audience (donors) give more time interact unlike offline fundraising .
To tell the story find a character and build a story about it to talk about your project and ask people to donate
A nonprofit I used to work for raised $50,000 in a short period of time. I think the difference was a video that was done that included cheerful messages from many of the kids that were benefitting from the project.
Using commemoration days like the world environment day, to plant trees , and get the media to cover the news
social media is actually one of the best ways to activate your existing network or within your own community to go out and help you reach out to people that you can not reach out to by yourself
social media is actually one of the best ways to activate your existing network or within your own community to go out and help you reach out to people that you can not reach out to by yourself
not really the way my organization look for funds
crowdfunding is a great tool.I enjoyed this module
I interestingly learnt that social media is rarely used for direct conversions.
learnt that your contacts can automatically be converted to your donor
One social media practice is you can post your campaign materials on social media, monitor and respond to donors during the campaigns and as well thank donors as donations come in .
Awesome session! From the podcast i learnt that weaving my story around a character makes it compelling.
I think you got it wrong. One of the biggest mistakes is to think that contacts can be directly converted to donors.
This works. Our organization usually plans our health education around major world days for some ailments and we then use that to drive fundraising campaigns for our medical outreaches.
Yes you are right
Yes you are right
Such a great job
I learnt a great deal about crowd
funding and am ready to put the use of what i have learnt into action
Kavita, interview is very inciteful and a guide in raising crowdfund for projects.
You are right.
In my own view, setting SMART goals is key, getting stories straight, taking beautiful photographs, mapping of network, prepare to share on social media and prepare the communication materials in advance will help in delivering good crowdfunding any day anytime.

Good evening,
The best practices learned from the podcast are the following: (1) have a clear and precise SMART goal,
(2) use emotions to develop and tell the story, (3) create a sense of belonging so that people will want to participate in the future.
Good evening,
I agree a strong SMART goal is a key component in creating an effective Crowdfunding story.
Good evening,
The podcast was very useful in assisting us in producing the best Crowdfunding story that tells a compelling story and that is relatable.
I agree with you. And the most important tip I learned was about choosing a platform for your crowdfunding campaign
The most important tip I learnt was about choosing a platform for your crowdfunding campaign
I agree with you, I have had a lot of challenges about developing a good crowdfunding campaign. Her tips have been very helpful.
Indeed! I was excited to practically how to give my process story a trajectory.
Leveraging the latent potential of social media can help reach out to a wider network map beyond your geographical location.
Everything ties back to the other; while social media can help greatly with your crowdfunding campaign, the ability to craft a compelling story with a trajectory will help get the needed attention. I enjoyed this course like everyone else am sure.
I learned is important powerful stories to engaged in the crowdfunding.
For the crowdfunding I use Global Giving Platform.
A network mapping which should start from core workers and family members could be the source of donors. I thought donors are only big government agencies or foundations. So I h've learnt that using the nearby people can also used to influence other donors in crowdfunding.
I agree with you, that the social media provides a wide range of donors ,however with little amount of unrestricted Fund
learnt that your contacts can automatically be converted to your donor
I've learnt that it's important to create SMART goals, so that those funding the project may understand exactly what your targets are and when you intend to achieve them
I actually didn't know anything about crowd fundraising. I am grateful to this course that I got to learn about this.
It was great to be able to access to this experience to learn how to create a crowdfunding. Thank you Kavita for sharing it in the podcast
The Podcast was really interesting.
I think Social media is a very important tool to not just to promote your organization or projects, but also to raise awareness on the cause you follow. Also, to build a community, create relationships and share with donors experiences that maybe they can’t reach from where they are by making them part of the cause, making them feel their contribution is important and without it, it wouldn’t be the same.
Also I believe that Social Media can give transparency and credibility to the organization.
Through Social Media, we break the barriers of time and space, borders which would allow attracting people from different contexts and cultures and achieving a more diverse and fruitful feedback experience.
I don’t have experience but I’m really interested in creating a crowdfunding platform.
Amazing!
One thing i learnt is to create that sense of belongingness for my community using information
aptly correct the right platform for your crowdfunding matters a lot to the success of your crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is most often used by startup companies or growing businesses as a way of accessing alternative funds. It is an innovative way of sourcing funding for new projects, businesses or ideas.
l was not aware that Facebook can be one of the fundraising platforms
Integrate the offline into online platform to be more effective.
Awesome.
@MerlyPR I have experience with this. I used crowdfunding for personal reasons when I needed help with medical bills for my service animal. Sharing personal stories and pictures made a huge difference in the donations I received.
I learned that using social media is not necessarily for converting your contacts into donors, but more for expanding your potential donor network, creating community, and bringing awareness of your organization to a larger network of people.
informing about your cause and creating a community is the key
