@janellekaz ,thank you for sharing Uriel's story of empowerment & transformation.
@Anjanette_kevin ,this story is powerful because body shaming is becoming a big problem.Beauty must not be defined by the opinion others.
A story i found really powerful was that of a rural community that didn't have a single school, it made me feel really bad because they had to work long miles to a community that had to trek everyday under the scorching sun and rain.
@Jaybetah ,your story is powerful and sad at the same time because access to education by school going children in rural areas is often hindered by the long distances that that they walk to and from school.I strongly believe that this issue also leads to irregular school attendance,
A story that is very powerful to me is about a single father with a daughter who lives in poverty. The father work as a pedicab driver or you can say as a public transportation like bicycle with three wheels and a seat in front, with a very little income because nowadays people use private vehicle. Both of them lived simple lives and happy lives until one day the daughter of this pedicab driver finishes her bachelor's degree and become a cum laude graduate student. With pleasure and pride the father hug the daughter and cry together as they received the award and degree. Later on as the father ride together with the daughter back home in the pedicab, the daughter said to her father that she is thankful of everything, every bit that her father have given to her entire life in any situation and of course the love and the faith of both of them as a little family in poverty. Time flies, now the father retired and the daughter is living her life and fulfill her father's live together. Such a powerful story that tells us not to give up quickly, to trust and to love each other.
Such a powerful story with a powerful meaning.
Such a powerful story, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this powerful and great story.
@Nyoman ,this story is really powerful and inspiring at the same time.Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you for sharing this story. This is a good one, it warms my heart while reading it because it makes me realize that humanity still exists.
A story I found really powerful was given at a training about mental illness. It was about the person's struggles with their mental illness told by a high school student. It made me feel sad but also hopeful because she overcame her illness and has learned to live with it since then.
Wow what an inspiring and amazing story!
@jwlangdon ,thank you for sharing this inspiring & powerful story with us all.
In Nigeria, while I was travelling to Enugu, I met this beggar at the motor park, normally, I don't really engage with them, but because of the way he dressed I had to ask him why he resorted to this, he went ahead to tell me how he graduated with a first class degree at the famous university of Nsukka, on his way to work one day he goy run over by a vehicle, that damaged one of his legs, after spending so much in treating with no result, the doctor informed him that they have to amputate the leg, during that process he lost his Job and spent all the money he had in treating himself and people refuse to hire him because he is now handicapped, he raised his trousers to show me his artificial leg, and concluded by telling me that it was the reason he had no choice than to beg, I have never given any beggar in my life more than 500 naira but that day I gave that man 5,000 naira, his story really stayed in my heart throughout my journey to Enugu, will never forget his story.
@kevinross222 ,this is one painful yet powerful story.I also commend you for your heart of gold for giving 500 Naira to this person you're telling us about. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank you sir
I was attending a conference in Medellin Colombia and I asked if I could go meet some of the women who were struggling with displacement due to guerrilla activity in the rural areas. I was taken to a very upmarket shopping center - the last place I expected to find such women, and there I met a woman who told me that that she had one child, a twenty year old boy who she loved very much. One day he told her he was going to the corner store to buy a Coke. She never saw him again. He disappeared. Every night she puts a candle in the window, in case he comes home. After fifteen years, she still hopes against hope. In the meantime she has started working with other mothers of "desaparecidos" and together they make dolls that represent their lost children. It's a way of making a living, and a way of remembering them. Her story touched me so much because of the way she lives with loss, and an unfinished story. We can all learn from the grace with which these women live - carrying on, supporting one another and never losing hope. Her story was a powerful encouragement for me to learn to deal with the losses, great and small, that we all experience.
Agreed, Mario is magic, and a wonderful souvenir of the mother.
@Binka001 ,thanks for sharing such a painful yet powerful story with us.
@kevinross222 ,you're very welcome.
The story of women who are abused in marriages by their husbands has a huge emotional impact on me . I listen to what they are put through - beatings , insults , public scolding , impregnated and divorced for no strong reason and left to fend for the children alone etc. I felt pit , pain an put myself in their shoes , how was i going to feel. I will support any movement or cause that seeks to protect , defend and empower our mothers , sisters , aunties , nieces and daughters. The world owe them a lot.
Thanks for sharing this emotionally gripping story . I can feel how you felt when he took you through what led him into this predicament.
@JonesRundora ,violence and abuse against women are issues that negatively affect the essence and spirit of women empowerment.Whats interesting is that even women that are economically empowered are always at risk of succumbing to violence, abuse and abandonment.Keep up the good work that you're doing.
I've worke in library, but problem showe off so the iwner have to close it. he wanted from people to purshase as much books as they could, for that we've prepared a campain on sozial media we wrote stories about the dream of opening the library, and how is that difficult that he close it now. people got so touched and sad so many and many show up this day to buy books
@aalaafarhat ,thanks for sharing this powerful story with us.
A friend once told me there's a story in a game. The story is about an outlaw gang who thrive to survive in their world. The story is about a character named Arthur Morgan who is in a big dilema whether he must choose between his loyalty to his gang or his idealism. The story really gets me and i choose to spend my money to buy the game and turned out i was very satisfied playing the whole game.
A story i found really powerful was the story of a game called Nier: Automata. The game tells about a journey to find meaning and purpose in life. The story is centered on how someone determines what the purpose of their birth is, packed with the theme of a post-apocalyptic war in which a war between androids and aliens takes place to save humanity. The story of the game is also more complete with various elements such as betrayal, hope, interpersonal relationships, dealing with loss, self-disclosure, loyalty and adaptation to reality. It made me feel interested and related as if we were involved in the game's storyline.
A story I found really powerful was a story which revolves around early marriage. This story made me feel like lending y voice to the young girls who are forced into marriages earlier than they can even understand the biological function of their bodies. The story was a very touching and it made me want to write more about the down-side of early marriages and what these young brides suffer at the end of the day. To me, early marriage is a form of violence against the girl child because it makes her vulnerable to all kinds of abuses and also puts her health in danger.
Abuse of any kind is not welcomed. Yes, women are abused in marriages but my thought and advice is always that; the signs of an abusive spouse is always there. Once a woman sees this signs, its best to leave the marriage.
A story I found really powerful was a football coach . It made me feel that I can do if I want . And it's really amazing that his word is motivation for me . Every time when I fail any work , I remember his word "Don't give up , You can overcome "
@indrastata ,thanks for sharing this powerful story with us.
@IsmielAbir ,your coach's words of wisdom are powerful and true if put into practice. Thanks for sharing your powerful story with us.
@Msadiq ,I totally agree with you on this.Any form of abuse that is directed towards women and girls is wrong. Thanks for sharing this powerful message with us.
@GivariArnanda ,wow!!Nier:Automata seems like a great teacher.I hope more people look it up and try it out.
@Msadiq ,early marriage is wrong too and it surely must stop.Thank you for highlighting another ugly issue.
A story I found really powerful was the story of Greta Thunberg. I watch a video (TED) in which she explained her life, her commitment to fight against climate change and her mental condition. She is Asperger, so she cannot understand that our society go on living despite all we know about climate change and how to try to lessen its effects. As a child, she was so worried about it that she even stopped talking for some years! Now she has decided that is better to act to try to get people conscious about the problem so they can start acting. I found this story compelling because, despite she is just a girl and with a mental condition, she is brave and she is fighting for what she believes is the best for our planet. This story made me get more involved in environmental issues, so I started to coordinate a Ecoschool program in my own school (I am a teacher)
I agree with you, it is very inspiring the action of that NGO, trying to empower vulnerable woman.
@Crisclamabio ,thanks for sharing Greta Thunberg's powerful story. She's such a great inspiration.

The story I found really powerful was a vulnerable girl who was raped because he couldn't afford to pay her school fee. It made me feel so weak

I read a story sometime ago on Twitter about a lady who was body-shamed because she was plus sized. The thread talked about how she went into depression, cried countless times and how she eventually got a win when she got started using a drug for weight loss.
I was really sad reading the story. Although it was a marketing strategy for the product used. I’d have to say that it was a really good one
I think I’ve come across this story or something similar. It made me rethink a lot about my decisions towards climate changes and how I could take positive steps to helping the planet be better
@Dharmy_jhay ,beauty comes in all shapes, colors and sizes but unfortunately, mainstream media platforms always have an opinion on whats considered beautiful.I encourage every one to learn how to accept themselves, flaws and all. Thanks for sharing this powerful story with us.
@Dharmy_jhay ,helping the planet to get better through adapting an eco friendly lifestyle is brilliant. Thanks for sharing your point of view with us.
A story I found really powerful was the testimony of a young somali refugee women who became the first muslim football referee in the UK. She gave her testimony during a webinar, explaining how she overcame prejudice, how she never gave up, even going against her family advice... It was really inspiring, she became a true role model for a lot of young girls.
Thanks for sharing this, I can see how a testomny like this can bring focus on a subject and can create empathy amongst the public to advocate for this cause.
@anna2813 ,thanks for sharing this powerful story with us.The story you're sharing with us is a reminder that we must not be defined by the hardships that life throws at us.
A story I found really powerful was the story of young girls who fail to attend school during menstruation's period because they can not afford to purchase pads It made me feel sad because of the hard time that these girls are going through "
The story i found powerful was that of the felt mouse, how it was made out of love and something that seemed so mundane could have such significant effect. It made me feel connected as if i was part of the story.

A story I found really powerful was a woman who went through the traumatic challenges of living with sickle cell all her life for over five decades, having experience over one hundred hospital admissions, fifty blood transfusion and five surgeries. Now creating a new healthy world for sickle cell warriors in Nigeria. It made me feel more empathetic, resilient and triggered my passion of making the world a beautiful and better place.

Often times, life tells me a lot of stories, in fact, it shows me some strings of such memories. The most profound of it is "Help, don't Hurt". It made me feel and still it does, that I don't have to allow others go through the vicious circle of deprivations and limitations that I went through before emerging, and that not liberating them is hurting them.
A story that i found really powerful was the is a restaurant in my neighborhood that employs people with deaf disabilities. and it made me feel more grateful for life and helping people with disabilities get jobs and treatment as usual.
A story I found the most powerful so far is a piece I wrote two years ago about my internship journey at an NGO in Kenya. That was my very first public piece. I was rejuvenated by the fact that people loved the story and henceforth believed that I am a great storyteller.

A story i found really powerful was mario the mouse. It made me feel sad reading the back story of the mother and the man, and how much she treasured the handmade doll, eventhough it's not perfect, but anything that is handmade and thoughtfully made, is valued differently, so it's a very wholesome story.
The story that marked me is: IT by Stephen King
A story of collective actions undertaken by protagonists who are absolutely losers. In this story, they would all have died if they hadn't decided to get together against their opponents. what Michela Murgia calls the synthesis of genius. That is, how to coordinate the multiplicity of the creativity of many people who have a vision, specialties, skills that, taken individually, are not geniuses but can work together brilliantly.
@keziaaprilliaa ,thanks for sharing your powerful story with us.
@cedoucedric ,thanks for sharing your powerful story with us.
A story I heard in music was the Robert Johnsons´s legend. He sold his soul to the devil and in return he would be the greatest blues guitar player.

A story I found really powerful was the story of Jack Ma, how he struggled through a hard and ignorant economies to build a world class E-commerce business in china. It made me feel a wealth of possibilities around me.
@KitsiDesmondLiel ,thanks for sharing your powerful story with us.
“A story I found really powerful was _the story of a young woman who lost her husband three years after marriage. It made me feel pity ."
A story that depicts a picture of a very emotional and self-motivating thing, there is a soccer athlete who does have a limited economy himself, with the shoes he wears when training still has to take it from the trash and fix it himself, their parents just work as a farmer and fisherman, but with his talent and high self-will he can prove that he can enter the national football team, this proves that success can come by anyone with hard work.

A story I found really powerful was a story about a coffee shop that employs people with disabilities as waiters. It made me feel perfection belongs only to God, with stories like that change many people's perceptions of the meaning of life, because limitations are not our reasons to stop exploring life, precisely with these limitations strengthen us in facing the world.
This story proves that disability can be a miracle
@abiolatemiloluwa ,losing her spouse three years into her marriage must have been really painful for her.I hope that she eventually found the strength to pick herself up and move forward.
@ranca_pangestu ,thanks for sharing this powerful story with us.
A story I found really powerful was about how Violet's husband was regularly getting hospitalised due to failure to monitor his bp. It made me feel sorry, and made me to by a bp machine to monitor my health."

A Story i found really powerful was of a lady who had 11 failed IVF procedures and this propelled her to have an NGO to bring joy to families of people who were struggling with the cost of IVF procedures. Unfortunately she passed two months before her 40th birthday which she had tagged sponsoring 40 FAMILIES with their IVF payments. Her NGO has set out to fulfill the dreams of the lady. I felt her pain ,her struggles ,her emotions while she was on the journey of conceiving for a child which she never experienced till she passed away. However her legacy lives on through the families she has made their dreams come true. Her story was what gave me the vision to begin my own NGO to help teenage girls with sexual health and end period poverty
I totally agree with you. Disability is not ability and God has made us perfect in his own image. Thank you for sharing
Disability is not inability
disability is not inability
A story I found really powerful was the story and life of Mother Theresa. It made me feel that everyone is responsible for everyone else."
@omobola_olaribigbe ,thanks for sharing this powerful and inspiring story with us.I am certain that other learners are going to be touched by it.
@Busohlah ,the story of Mother Theresa of Calcutta,India will always touch millions of hearts. Her legacy will always live on.
I once listened to a story from my friend, she was born in a small province in Vietnam, she told me her father said to her that "if your brothers go to school, then you can't go" because the family has a limited finance to support all the , lucky for her, both of her brothers didn't want to go to school, so she got her chance. She finished her study and now started her own NGO to support underprivileged girls go to school. I think her story is such a powerful example of personal storytelling, it will make you understand why she does what she does and want to support her right away.
@Kelly_Vo ,thanks for sharing this powerful story with us.
A story I found really powerful was of a molested child describing to me what happened to her. It made me feel pity, empathy, pain and anger to know what happened.
A story i found really powerful was this one of a girl who does'nt have the chance to go to school and leave in very bad condition of life. It mad me feel very sad. This story compel me to be really involved in actions against children exploitation

@JorgePereira ,defilement of underage children by morally corrupt adult men is a serious issue that needs to be fought relentlessly. Thanks for sharing your powerful story with us.
@Pascal79 ,thanks for sharing this powerful story with us.
A story I found really impactful was for an NGO that provides home repairs to senior low income homeowners. The work helped people stay in their homes, and also told the story of how aging in place also helps with generational wealth, so I was able to see how impact now can affect the future in positive ways.
