Is it advisable to change the vision statement when ever there is re organisation of the vision?
Number 1 point in any project. I would say even more – communication is the driving force in great majority of situations that happen in the world. It is very important to have a constant talk with each member. Thus a manager gets ongoing feedback, updates colleagues and simply shows that he is not a boss with tough management style, but a leader who can discuss even yesterdays’ TV-show.
How to simplify the process of creating theory of change. It seems it needs a special expertise
What are some of the tools you have used to explore the different aspects of your theory of change?
I was expecting that something on ToC Result Framework would have been included in introducing module. One thing more, that is that who have enrolled for this course might be having any idea about all this (might be all of the course members having broad experience in it), so for the beginners (like me) it would be better to start the ToC with the micro scale with the individuals projects and ask the course members to develop the ToC for the single project then to the program and portfolios which will lead to organizational scale. Secondly, sample of ToC are missing for developing idea sample ToC statements should have included in this module

I don't have question right now and no questions of peers on the plat form for the time being.
I agree wiht updating Vision statemets to remain relevant in the dynamic environment but should not be to frequently in few periodes of time.
At what stage do we implement Theory of Change in a organisation
Is it imperative to implement change where it is not accepted by the staff
PLEASE KINDLY RESPOND TO THE ABOCE REPRESENTATIONS PLEASE YOUR INPUTS WILL BE APPRECIATED
If an organization has a theory of change in place, does it apply to all its projects or it can be changed as per the specific project?
Questions are very important in identification of the problem which needs to be soclved
Should theory of change process always lead to change? In other words, can status quo be an acceptable result of a theory of change process?
Theory of Change process is more useful for project design/re-design. The change pathway or logical framework is relevant in document the change pathway that is being implemented. It can come as a component of the project charter, M&E plan etc.
To your second quesiton; This also means that theory of change process is relevalnt at project level
A vision statement should only be changes if it is found to be weak i.e. not very inspirational. Otherwise for an organization that already has a strong vision statement, a theory of change process does not necessarily have to change the Vision statment but must start from the vision statement
When we determine a need for change to achieve greater results. The theory of change should also be periodically reviewed and updated e.g. annually. This would include reviewing monitoring and reviewing the change assumptions
I would love to learn more about how to clarify the vision and identifying the pit falls while writing the theory of change
In essence, an organisation’s Theory of Change describes how it believes it makes a difference. It should clearly link inputs and activities to outcomes and to achieving the organisation’s overall goals. (It is usually expressed as a diagram with an accompanying narrative that explains the model.)
The section was interesting. I looked forward to learn more.
How can you ensure that your vision and mission statements stand out?
Thr only reason you should change your vision statement is when you feels that it is not strong enough.
It was satisfactory
I wonder if anyone here have experience with mitigating the "mirror instead of target" pitfall?
Remember to involve other professionals in your organisation when developing a theory of change
how is theory of change different from the logical frame work.
I have no doubts for now.
thank you
Even though we think of articulating assumptions as a discreet step in the theory development process, assumptions may surface throughout this process as participants
think out loud. It may be important to discuss with the group the need to keep critical assumptions in mind (or to write them down as they come up in conversation), since this step is about checking the assumptions embedded in the theory that has been developed thus far. It may make sense to keep a running list of assumptions on a sheet of poster paper so that when the group gets to this step in the process it can be used as a jumping-off point.
In applying the ToC, do I need to be specific with one process as to my unit or can I apply ToC in our organization as a whole?
how is theory of change different from the logical frame work.
it has been a good module, well equipped but came with a question, how would you deal with these pitfalls and how sure one can be that when well dealt with give you a success.
not real, i think you have to be well conversant with what you are willing with first.
Hi,
My question is as it relates to how an organisation can effectively take external contexts into account especially in some developing countries where there is a high level of policy summersaults and inconsistency.
For me, efforts at simplifying the process of Theory of Change begin with the involvement of all relevant stakeholders. These will bring to the table their respective perspectives and may facilitate the entire process
what are the likely pitfalls that you have realized in your organization and how are you planning to avoid them
How many words can we say an ideal vision statement should have?
I found this sentence which happens to be a question useful.
"What evidence will we use to show that this has been achieved?"
I found it important because it is a question that must be answered at each point in the pathway of change which provides indicator that track progress and measure the degree of success.
I would say that all members have freedom of expression and will be given fair hearing.
I would ensure everyone's voice is heard.
All ideas would be considered diligently but the most suitable, useful and result-oriented would be considered
i closed the session before completion. i was not able peer response
Hello everyone.
I think the topic "avoiding pitfalls" is super important when preparing to facilitate a ToC. How have you approached it with your teams and what would you recommend to approach them? This is the first time I am going to facilitate a ToC process.
Kind regards.
What is the difference between a theory of change and a strategic plan?
It is possible to share some good examples of ToC with indian or Asian context with set examples
it has been a good module, well equipped but came with a question, how would you deal with these pitfalls and how sure one can be that when well dealt with give you a success.
NO question, The module gave me a clear understanding on what is a theory of change
What would have been the best response to question B?
I am not sure I understood the difference between the theory of change and the logical carder, the two seem the same to me.
I have no question
The module was great
