Communication is a key tool to any organizations growth weather internal or external. Therefore it should be well utilize for any non profit to succeed in their Mission and Vision.

Sharing updated and relevant informations within an organization can never be overemphasized, it keeps all involved abreast and in tone with what the organization is involved in and where it is at. Information is power for effective and efficient staff.

This is a critical but often overlooked aspect for nonprofits. In the early stages, clearly a strategic communication plan is an invaluable tool. The plan should include the exact persona of the target audience. Going forward, volunteers can undertake free courses and trainings on communication particularly for external communications. Traction can be very easily generated using social media as long as the audience is on the specific platform chosen.

I selected this area of capacity because I believe my organization can do better in this area particularly with regards to external communication. From what I have learnt so far, the aspects we need to intensify efforts around are: creating a strong communications plan and fully utilizing the various media channels to our advantage. Great lessons so far!
