Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) are essential components of project management aimed at tracking progress, assessing performance, and measuring impact.
Monitoring:- involves continuous tracking and collection of data throughout a project lifecycle. It focuses on assessing whether activities are being implemented as planned, milestones are achieved, and resources are utilized effectively.
Evaluation:-is a periodic assessment that measures the project's effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, sustainability, and impact against predetermined goals and objectives. It provides insights into what works well, what needs improvement, and guides decision-making.
Together, M&E ensure accountability, inform decision-making, and enable organizations to learn from experiences, leading to more effective and impactful projects.
