  • USAID's seven criteria for strong Indicators.

    These seven include:
    1.Objective: indicator should only have one way in which they can be interpreted.

    1. Direct: does your indicator measure impact, outcome, output and input itself?
    2. Practical: is the indicator affordable and measurable.
    3. Useful for management: is management able to make decisions.
    4. Disaggregated: how your indicators can be separated into categories.
    5. Adequate: are there enough indicators to measure the success of the project?
      7: Attributable: If the indicator is changed, will you know that the project caused the change.
