If you were asked to complete the following statement, what would you say?
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think_____________________________, but now I _______________________________________.
Feel free to share any other takeaways, thoughts, and/or questions, too!
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think developing indicators are so easy, but now I know there is a need to think deep about the changes that one anticipates to see after the proposed intervention
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think that premortem existed in ToCs, but now I see the importance of premortems.
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think developing indicators are so easy, but now I know that i have to think about the changes that one anticipates to see after the proposed intervention
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think evaluation is always just linked to outcome measurement, however now I do understand that evaluation is clearly proving that all progress or outcome made is only due to the project. However outcome measurement by itself does not try to establish this causal relation.
The 35 minute PDF reading material did not want to open after being downloaded - it kept saying that there was an error in the code so I had to do my own research on the topic in order to have a better understanding and complete my worksheet.
Did anyone else have this challenge?
Yes, I did
This topic reinforces my understanding of indicator development and i relate with it very well.
Before going through the Module 2, I thought developing indicators would be easy, working on it i found assuring the numbers with depth ground information is tough
Great for you
I could not even open resources provided since i had problem to open it. May be due to internet
Before going through module 2, I used to think you do not have to do a premortem, but now I see the importance of premortems.
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think that premortem and postmorten where generally done in health sectors but now I know the importance of premortem planning and how to go about it successfully.
Well done all.
I hope that you managed the exercise.
I found it interesting
I could accordingly outline the indicators with the expected results.
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think outcome measurement would evaluate the activities of a program as to their efficacy, but now I know from the required reading (page 6) it is a process concerned with goals and outcomes without establishing the reason for a change. The phrase, "so what" in the reading embodies this quite memorably.
Evaluation Research focuses on causation - something I think is very important if one is to develop a good program.
I do understand that evaluation is clearly proving that all progress or outcome made is only due to the project. However outcome measurement by itself does not try to establish this causal relation.

I hope the podcasts was very clear and helpful
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think The indicator are mainly Quantifiable/ measurable and actionable. But there are definitely more to learn in details for sure
Before going through the Module 2, I used to think I would like to revise some vital topics I have learned in previous lesson to get better understanding

Before going through Module 2 i used to think that you can define indicators even without clearly understanding the desired outcomes but now i know its neccessary to look at the outcomes and derive indicators from them.
Before going through Module 2, I used to think that outcome metrics and premortem analysis were solely focused on tracking success and identifying potential failures after implementing a program. However, now I understand that these tools are proactive and strategic approaches to foresee and address challenges beforehand, ensuring a more effective and resilient program design.
