  • I send my greetings over there all the way from Uganda Africa. My name is Hellen, I am the team leader at Heavenly Bread Children’s Foundation, a Christian based organization in Uganda (East Africa) working to remove the barriers that prevent orphans and underserved children from succeeding and from being open to the Gospel. Our programs provide for children’s basic needs, including food, clothing, water, and medical care.

I began the organization due to the overwhelming number of unprivileged and poor children in Uganda, whose dreams have been disrupted by the lack of basic needs and not given the privilege to achieve their God given potential.

  • I'm Jacob, and I hail from the United States. Delving into the world of fundraising and donor connections has always intrigued me, and I'm truly excited to be a part of this course.

My goals for this course are two-fold. Firstly, I aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of the strategies and techniques involved in successful fundraising. This knowledge will help me create more compelling and engaging campaigns, ultimately leading to increased support for the causes I deeply care about. Secondly, I want to learn how to establish strong connections with donors, not just on a transactional level, but on a deeper, more meaningful level. Building authentic relationships with donors is key to sustaining long-term support and engagement.

I plan to apply the insights from this course directly in my work with the nonprofit organization I'm affiliated with. By implementing effective fundraising strategies and employing personalized approaches to donor engagement, I hope to contribute to the financial sustainability and growth of our organization. Additionally, I'm excited to share what I learn with my colleagues and fellow team members to collectively enhance our fundraising efforts.

  • Hi all! My name is Nick from Canada. I work for the YMCA in the Health, Fitness and Aquatics field where we facilitate in house programing at our local community/recreation centres. I am a manager for the building.

My goals for these courses are to support my ability to drive philanthropic initiatives. As working for a charity, fundraising and donor support has always been a part of my role, but outside of helping support a fundraising event, my knowledge and comfortability around donor relations and relation building has always been quite awkward or felt forced. I look forward to applying this coming into our next fundraising year of 2024.

How to better understand donor relations and build them. At times thanking a donor on behalf of a team that did all of the donor relations feels quite un authentic. I would like to learn to better support and build these relations myself to enhance our connection to our donors that allow us to do some amazing work.
