Hi, I'm new to this course and Philanthropy University altogether, with some marketing management experience at a very small nonprofit but would love to gain more and hear from others so I can gain more and improve upon skills.
I'm currently studying business and marketing/digital marketing in college (pursuing an Associate's degree and a couple college certificates), and truly love to learn. Had planned to focus on the communications side of nonprofits or NGOs, but now I'm interested in broader skills within the nonprofit world (hence, advocacy).
Networking and supporting one another cannot be underestimated and really helps us all move forward in our career, thus make better contributions to our different causes. I hope I'll manage to connect with some like-minded, forward-thinking people ready to improve society through advocacy!

I'm currently partnering with the State of Colorado on multiple projects. One of my fellow members coined the term "Accidental Advocate" when asked how we all ended up doing this work. It truly was accidental. I did not become and advocate on purpose, but here I am. Hope to learn new things as I work my way through this course.
