  • Motivation in Burundi Education

I have been teaching English language in Burundi for now 7 years. As qualified for the teaching career, my dream from the day I enrolled in the department of Arts and Social Sciences of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) was to get my brothers and sisters professional practionners of the language of Shakespeare. I did my best but the success rate got changed from school year to school year. Through action research I found out that most learners are losing motivation due to their learning goal which looks to be darkened by the question "What shall I be at the end of my studies?" What, as fellow Burundian researchers can be done for a renewal of the learning motivation toward the success recovery?
