    Community Values
Community values are the non-negotiable core principles or standards that the community’s citizens wish to maintain. They must be acknowledged, honored and constantly defended to ensure that change and development occur in accordance with these core principles and standards. The community values held by the residents, community leaders and elected officials determine the City’s character, urban design features and ultimately shape the development of the City. Community values guide the community’s vision, mission, Strategic Plan as well as its goals, objectives, activities, capital projects, budgets and service levels. The following represents an overview of the community’s core values that form the basis for the community’s vision.
