  • SEFTI Checklist for Sustainability of Water Supply Systems in Nepal Context

    Dear all,
Please put your opinion and feedbacks for discussion
I have created this topic to start discussion on sustainability issues of Water Supply and WASH systems in Nepal.
Sustainability of WASH systems is still a challenge, though governments and other actors are making huge investment into the sector globally. Systems thinking of WASH (beyond consideration of physical existence of Water supply scheme or Water-point only), highlights institutional arrangements, technical and financial skills to manage the system as well as socio-economic, environmental and other aspects associated with the system. Considering these aspects and thinking WASH as a system, SEFTI (Social, Environmental, Financial, Technical and Institutional) checklist for sustainability of Water Supply Systems in the context of Nepal, (where piped water supply systems are most) has been listed here.
