  • Critical-incident appraisal

    This method has been developed recently and is supposed to lead greater objectivity to employees appraisal. The system is based on the observance of each employee's several trait factors on the job . such as being quarrelsome with fellow employees, showing willingness to assist others and work overtime during peak periods and rating him accordingly. This critical behaviours are recorded in a specially designed book and behaviour patterns drawn on the basis of observed critical incidents. Daily recording of the trait factors is necessary, otherwise it would be difficult for the supervisor to remember the incidents. Accumulated incidents then provide an objective basis for evaluation at appraisal time.
