I see training as the activities involved in the development and delivery of information needed to enable the trainee perform a specific task. Development represents a learning program design to build an individual so they could be better and assume greater role in their organization
I agree with you

In training, the employees are imparted technical knowledge and skills related to the particular job and stresses on improving the abilities of each worker. In contrast, development is a sort of educational process which focuses on the growth and maturity of the managerial personnel. Check out the article given below, that elucidates the difference between training and development, in tabular form.

You are right, I know as well
Training can be seen as a process of learning to beginners to acquire skills and knowledge. Training could be for a specific period of time and is usually for those who don't have the idea of the skills and knowledge taught
Developing is a continuous process. It's what you do to bring out the best in someone. Once trained you need to develop yourself by trying out new things and things that could keep you going

to my knowledge
- Development is a continuous process, and so it is for the long
while- Training is a program organized by the organization to develop knowledge and skills in the employees as per the requirement of the job.
For me the two terms are like two sides of a coin, they can't do without each other. Training has to do with acquiring proficient skills (that is developing yourself) By acquiring skills you're developing the methods of application towards the things you want to execute. Then development is improving on those skills you have learnt. Varying changes and adding new innovations to the skills you already possess. That's my own understanding
Training is a form of acquiring knowledge while development is the process of growth through the training one has
acquired.

Training is the process of acquiring knowledge and skills suitable for one’s pursuit. In the pursuit of your chosen field, you need continuous training “viz a viz “ acquisition of the required knowledge and skills.
Development on its part is a form of growth, enlargement, progress, success , blossoming etc. It constitutes a new stage in a positively changing situation.
The difference therefore between Training and development is that while training is a learning process to get skills required for any form of development, development is a continuous process and also for the long term.
Both must be seen to compliment each other.
Training is the process or method of acquiring a skill while development is the outcome of the skill a or the achievement of the skill which is the out put.

ma, can't development be the Outcome
Training is more individualistic, Development is collective; Training is instructive, Development instinctive (involving institutionalised learning) which in more adaptive; Training is generic, Development is domesticated; Development involves training over a long period of time

Training is a short term process which is facilitated by a trainer, which is mostly job oriented or related with an objective to improve the trainees work performance and output. Training also focuses on the present and it is specific on what it tends to improve. Development on the other hand is a continuous process (Long term process) which is improved upon by the individual/ self. it is mostly career oriented and seeks to improve generalized knowledge and skills necessary to improve the career prospects of the individual or in a way, prepare him/her for future challenges. Unlike training, development is futuristic and in most cases, it is not specific as to what it aims to improve.

Training is a ways of learning new things about and organization product or a new ways taken people through new ways of doing things to be educated..
Development is a process that creates growth, progress, positive change or the addition of physical, economic, environmental, social and demographic components.
Training .
So sorry 'MarkG that I'm responding now. I couldn't access it before now. Like you asked, 'the difference between 'training and development' Training has to do with a 'short range thing/ achievement while 'Development is a 'long term thing/achievement what this mean is that for 'training, is an experience that one embark on to make him/her familiar with a thing/setting and the sole aim of it is to impact skills and knowledge on the person while 'development is experience that one gets to boost him/her more on/in the job or a thing. Is(development) in long term while 'training is in short term, it helps the person, guides the person in' the job, it can be between 'weeks to few months and the aim of it is to equip the person on the task ahead and is like an 'orientation as well to formerly introduce the person in the work/job and from time to time, is put in place to impart and the activity is for people to acquire skills or knowledge
My apology for submission of my late response.
Training is the act of accumulating lectures, training or knowing better an organisation, or skill while
development is the process of a specified state of growth or advancement of being trained..
Training is the act while development is the process.
To me training is the act of putting one or self through on a particular subject matter, while development is the process of growing in what one has been trained on.
No real growth has ever been achieved alone. Training the people secures a pass for progress and innovation in all aspects of development.
Remember NO MAN is an ISLAND
It also help employees to grow with the organisation giving them a reason to improve and work harder
training has a short timing while development has a long timing, that continuous

I guess so
Training is what leads to the development we'll see
Training is the acqusiation of the technical know of a particular course, field or group of fields, while development is bringing the proccess to tangibility.
Training is the process or activity of either imparting or acquiring skills. Development is also a process, it occurs when training is applied.
TRAINING; This term simply means. 'Impacting knowledge as well as giving good and clear understanding on an organizing particular body of firm and so on ' mean while,
DEVELOPMENT; this refers to putting together the ideology of acquired knowledge or training for the progress of a social entrepreneur for the benefits of a particular community or society.
Traditionally training has comprised the of learning a set of skills. Or predictable actions or behaviour. This change in skills and behaviour is usually aimed at improving the current job performance of an individual. Training may also prepare an individual for a potential job or role.
Development not only seeks to improve performance in a role, but seeks to bring out some form of maturity growth. Development is used to increase the potential of an employee as well as equip them to be ‘better’ individuals.
Training
Training is usually a short term process.
Training usually requires guidance (or instruction) in a series of steps to gain a skill, or set of predictable knowledge.
Often for non-leadership related activities.
Aimed at a specific task or job role.
Development
Is more long term in nature.
Often includes education in philosophical and theoretical concepts
Aimed at developing relationships, often for the purposes of improving leadership skills
More general and non-tangible than specific
Training is a systematic setup where employees are instructed and taught matters of technical knowledge related to their jobs. while Development is the overall holistic and educational growth and maturity of people in managerial positions.
Training is the process of equipping employees in a specific organization with specific skills, competency, and knowledge so that they can be able to handle various tasks.
Development is used to increase the potential of an employee as well as equip them to be ‘better’ individuals, so that they can have steady growth and they can handle any job that is offered by the agency.
When you train someone you have equip him/her with a particular skill which will bring about development in the organization. Development means growth, progress in an organization. This can be seen through improved service, returns and expansion of business. Development can take different forms
Training is a process in which an individual is equipped with technical skills to meet up with requirements of a task in an organisation. A lot of times, training is planned. Not all trainings result in development however, development is the ability to meet up with technicalities in problem-solving. Development is usually as a result of strategic planning and positioning.
Both can be tagged as a continuous process whereas one training to acquire vast knowledge of skills which when channeled into opportunities births development. I see training as a tool to gain development on different spheres.
Training is a short term process, utilizing a systematic and organized procedure through which technical knowledge and skills are learnt for a definite purpose.. It is Quantitative.
Development is a long term educational process through which conceptual and theoretical knowledge is obtained. It is Qualitative.
Training is a process of dispensing more quality to improve one's already existing worth. These qualities could be in knowledge or skill. While development is improving your present capacity.
Training is process of acquiring knowledge about something and development is putting in to use the knowledge acquired in a work
Training is an activity organized to educate the trainees, while development is about putting what was learnt during the training to everyday use.
Training is a systematic setup where employees are instructed and taught matters of technical knowledge related to their jobs or organizations. while Development is the overall holistic and educational growth and maturity of people in managerial positions in which they are trained.
Training is acquiring new set of skills while development is putting those skills learnt I to practice.

Also, Training can be said to be the little little blocks that make up the edifice called Development. Good training gives good development while poor training gives poor development.
Training simply is,imparting or acquiring a skill while development is an advanced process of growth.
Training makes for development.

Training and development involves improving the effectiveness of organizations and the individuals and teams within them.[1] Training may be viewed as related to immediate changes in organizational effectiveness via organized instruction, while development is related to the progress of longer-term organizational and employee goals. While training and development technically have differing definitions, the two are oftentimes used interchangeably and/or together. Training and development has historically been a topic within applied psychology but has within the last two decades become closely associated with human resources management, talent management, human resources development, instructional design, human factors, and knowledge management.[1]
Training provides you with the targeted skills, development helps you to gauge your performance and progress
Training is an acquisition of skill toward a targeted development of an organization while development is the outcome of a training training toward achieving a targeted goal of an organization.
Specifically it is about human labor, human capacity, and intellectual capability to handle what ever assignment given to a person.
there is no difference only that the two emphasize that human carry the virtue of performing certain task at any point in time.
Training is an act, process of acquiring a skill or knowledge or an activity of improving on current skills while Development is the process of growth
