My name is Stélio Bila, joining from Maputo city, Mozambique. I work in a civil society organization whose core business is integrity, transparency and anticorruption, as a monitoring and evaluation specialist and process analyst. among other things, I am responsible for stakeholders engagement and fundraising. I believe that the course will provide me with adequate tools for risk analysis in monitoring partnerships, help me to acquire the best approaches in establishing partnerships and retaining existing ones.
Due to my rhythm and routine of work perhaps it is not convenient to enter to some work /study team to not compromise the performance of the group.
The little experience I have in dealing with partners, including donors, is only practical, so I think the theoretical approach I can get here in this course it will be very interesting.

  • Hello friends.
I am Isah Nasidi from Nigeria. I am the founder of Bakin Ruwa Students'Union (BASU) a CBO that concerns with Education and Capacity DeceDevelop.
I am happy to vb here.

  • Hello fellow Philanthropists!

My name is Rebecca and I am logging on to learn from the Dominican Republic. Originally from Calgary, Canada I relocated here over 7 years ago. Mostly to escape the cold and be closer to the ocean but also to be able to focus on giving back.

I have volunteered with numerous organizations here, but currently focusing on the beginning stages of a new initiative called The Be Kind Project which focuses on bringing health and wellness clinics to small neighborhoods.

While visiting these villages we have noticed a huge need for dental and medical operations and certain medications such as parasite meds. We have had a decent amount of sponsors so far within our community, but I wish to learn how to bring funding in from across our borders as well. I also believe we both (my partner and I) have a handful of donors in our hands but are possibly not reaching them in the most effective way, so I hope to learn for the both of us how to effectively raise funds for our small projects with the hopes to be able reach a more global scale of awareness on how to Be Kind.

A team sounds interesting, but I dont believe my partner would be interested in this course. So if someone else wants to take me in please feel free to reach out.

My experience in giving back has been somewhat all over the place. I started learning about humanitarian work after dating someone here who had a large foundation based in Canada but operating here. He was a huge player and had many stories and strategies to learn. I spent a lot of time sitting back watching him do his thing which usually meant
fundraising large amounts, using gripping stories and tactics to attract donors of all denominations. He had a way of captivating an audience that I could only dream to be able to do one day. Since, I was living and breathing this new way of life in my home I knew I needed to also include this life outside so I started volunteering my time with a feeding program in a Haitian Batey (sugar plantation) I visited the village 3 times a week and helped cook and distribute meals to over 300 children. Sometimes this meal was the only meal they would enjoy that week. Obviously the more time I spent there the more involved I became in the lives of these people. I started seeing need for many other things, like education for the children, clothes, medicines, family education among many others and this is where my first fundraisers, my first campaigns and my first successes at planning and executing these things began. From that experience I knew this was my purpose, this was why I was here. If I couldn't leave a huge mark in someone's life, I would at least try to leave a little and since then I have been doing everything I can along the way to make an impact big or small every day.
Whether it be food drives, spay and neuter clinics, school fundraisers, clothes donations and drops, medical clinics, donating to crowd funds or just sharing some kindness along the way.

It's a beautiful thing this life and once you start its hard to stop, but now I need to focus on learning some real techniques and strategies to help further my experience in giving back.

    2. Volunteer work ( research innovation ) with an organization, and within the beautiful village. I love design innovation, especially; conservation.

    3. My goals are to investigate if this course can help me serve people and the World better.

    4. Teams, yes please, though my time is limited- I am free just before sunrise 4 am for 2 hours. Sunrise is a beautiful time to work.

    5. Not an expert,
I used my role as Brand manager at a large group of hotels to showcase local talent in unique ways, creating exhibitions of talent and revenue for the community. I can design and love organizing; greatly detailed events, and working with people, I am an artist, writer, which sometimes, helps. I do advocate for artisans and reduced taxation on tools and export, in the press, through exhibitions, and through supporting local artisans. I also believe that the only true economic value left in a crazy world is both its true people, and nature.

    Thank you.

  • Hi I am, Jemma. From Kilifi County, Coast Province, KE.

I am not with an organization, I do volunteer, within the village, and our equally beautiful conservation area; research, mostly conservation led with a bit of design innovation and education.

My goals--- I hope to be able to see how the course works and examine the English level and time needed, to see how it could help key people within the community. Also, if there is any way at all I can use it to help fund our schools to have bigger libraries focusing on marine sciences, more recycling projects and arts in schools, my dream bench mark is CAS; " CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) is a continuation of WAB's Global Citizenship program for Grade 11 and 12 students, and a mandatory core component of the IB Diploma Programme. CAS is the heart of the diploma and takes seriously the importance of life outside the world of scholarship, providing a refreshing counterbalance to academic studies."

Groups-- Yes please! I am best before Sunrise four am for two purely uninterrupted hours.

Not really, an expert, but, I have used jobs I have held to carve out many opportunities and exhibitions of our natural talent, creating jobs and showcasing brilliance of local artisans, resulting in fruitful careers. Researching innovation and disrupting, and lobbying for no taxation on artisans tools, in the press.
