    Poor Fundraising Case: Leading ethical tourism charity forced to close

    The recent news that Tourism Concern forced to close due to insufficient funding to sustain itself is probably a very good case study of fundraising strategies.

    (1) Why does an organization running for decades fail to find the suitable funding strategies?
    (2) What is wrong with the whole revenue and funding structure? Any innovative way to improve that?
    (3) When social entrepreneurship and responsible tourism becoming more main-stream with many new entrants to the market, why is an organization with decades of experience closing down? Poor products, management and communications?
    (4) Anything we learned from other courses such as M&E can help the management position, communicate and market the company better, had it not been closing down?
