  • I am Heraa Nasim, I live in Melbourne but I am originally from Pakistan. I work at a civil utility company as HSEQ coordinator so, I am not involved in philanthropy work directly at the moment but I want to eventually get involved in community development work in a few years and leave the corporate world and I am joining this group so that I could maybe get a chance to work with likeminded people and create a platform from where we could contribute and also find a way for our sustenance.

    Welcome Duaa!

Elder care is so important, and it's great to hear that you are thinking about these issues. Are there any resources you have found online on this topic that you may be able to share.

Also, if you haven't already, I encourage you to join the Saudia Arabia Community to connect with other Saudi learners :)

Lovely to have you here Suleman! Your story is a common one I've found here in our communities, of former for-profit employees leaving behind a career to focus on work they found more meaningful. So inspiring to hear about your journey on this path as well.

Can you share some more about what Pakistan Cold Chain Development Company does? What are its programs?

Also, make sure to introduce yourself to the Pakistan Community as well to connect with other learners from the country :)

The cold chain refers to the temperature management of perishable products in order to maintain quality and safety from the point of slaughter or harvest through the distribution chain to the final consumer.

At PCCDC we aim to Grow the industry, Lead and Forge a nationally strong cold chain where every product retains quality and safety through each link. Along the way building capacity, especially for the small farmer base (which is the significant contributor) in order to help them preserve their produce and gain maximum returns.

  • Greetings Philantopians,
I am delighted to connect with people who care about changing communities in positive ways. I am Eliack Shikamo from North western part of Zambia. Eliack is Registered nurse serving a rural community of Mutanda in Kalumbila district. I live near Chief Mumena’s palace which is 56km away from Solwezi town the headquarters of North western province in Zambia. I have grown with a philanthropic heart as it began with me and my elder sister helping our grand mother in the village of Zangemenu. The interest to help communities became more profound for me when I lost my Baby boy Buwame Shikamo. This influenced me to start a child development organization aimed at helping children and their care givers in the chiefdom of Mumena. Being the founder of the Buwame Child Development Foundation have a big role of seeing the organization grow.
Being part of the Philanthropic team shall enable me gain more knowledge and skill in advancing the call. Being into the business of helping the community requires sharing notes with other able minds. This will enable me achieve the objectives of starting the concept.
