Hi Jason. Thanks for your question about NEWSAN.
The Society for Water and Sanitation (NEWSAN) is a national non-governmental network of civil society, non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations in Nigeria that deal with issues of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the country. The activities of NEWSAN mainly include but are not limited to policy advocacies to government at all levels in the country on issues of WASH in the country, sensitization of different focused groups and the general public on WASH issues, capacity building of our members including other key stakeholders and implementation of projects and programmes to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goal 6. We also partner with relevant government ministries, departments and agencies, sister organizations, corporate entities and individuals to implement our activities that seek to contribute to the overall SDG 6 in the country.

  • Hello everyone my name is Modupe Ativie and I live in Port Harcourt Nigeria. After 12 years experience in training, learning & development and human capacity building, I set up my own management consultancy to continue to offer these services. I am not currently involved with any NGO. However one thing that has bothered me for a while is the growing incompetence of teachers in Nigeria, especially those in the public schools. My heart bleeds thinking about the quality of children these schools would churn out if the teachers themselves dont know much. My passion now is to use what i'm good at to help by reaching out to leaders in the educational sector to derive and design programmes to help them improve on the job, while increasing the standards for the teacher selection process, not to prevent people from becoming teachers, but including practical ways they can improve on themselves so they can give more to the children they teach.

  • Hello, my name is Anette, I am from Germany. Since 2010 I tried to become a change maker with impact on global challenges. I attended all previous courses here and some other MOOCs. Since 2014 I created social innovations (sustainable, scalable and transferable concepts) and already achieved impact/positive change in help for refugees, civic society engagement, education and more ... now I would like to create a concept to help Africans to survive and start-up in their countries based on my education concept. For Germany and in future for Africa, I need to learn about monitoring and evaluation of our impact. So far it is quite easy, because the impact and progress is obvious and can be followed daily. Some international scientists do interviews with us and with our learners. But I need to improve my knowledge in this field.

Hi everybody here, I am Franklin Yangfomenga Walier, a Ghanaian. I live and work in Ghana as a Development Planning Officer at one of the Local Government Authorities in the country; Tano South Municipal Assembly. I facilitate the preparation, implementation, M&E of development plans (programs, projects and activities) as well as measuring the socio-economic impacts of implemented strategies. I am particularly interested in joining this community to broaden my scope of knowledge in measurements and evaluation as this is not emphasized in most government organisations/assemblies charged with the duty of providing social infrastructure and services. I hope to learn more practicable tools for measurements and tap the rich experience of peers. Thanks
