  • Share your best practices: Cycle 1 -Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning

    Hi everyone,

We here at Philanthropy University recognize that you guys, our learners, are experts in what you do. For that reason, we want to to hear your best practices for common challenges you face in your work.

Every couple weeks, we will ask a new question related to your best practices at work. Please provide your and/or your organization's best practices, and "vote" for others' best practices that you agree with or are helpful. Based on the best practices that get the most “votes”, we will gather this community’s favorite answers and make a collection of the Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning community’s best practices. This collection of best practices will be available to all learners who visit this community, supporting other individuals interested in Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning to overcome these common challenges.

Great, thank you @Unia ! Do you have any resources you can share for other community members that may not be familiar with how to do a social impact analysis?

We monitor calls into our toll-free hotline with a data tracking sheet to learn sociodemographic information about the caller, time of the call, the topic of inquiry, and how the caller learned about the hotline. Since the majority of callers learn about the hotline through our radio show, we target subsequent episodes to reflect frequently asked hotline questions. We also expanded our hotline's hours of operation after we learned that we were missing a significant amount of calls on nights and weekends.

Love this description of the sort of feedback loop you and your organization have between your programs and services (radio show, hotline) and your beneficiaries @Amy . How in this process do you and your organization determine if these programs and services are successful in supporting the organization's mission and vision? Are there any quantitative ways that you approach this?

how can we convince the leaders of associations that this course is very important for managing projects

Thanks for this note @ONESPHORE ! What course in particular you speaking to? Philanthropy University is free for all, so we hope that the content and objectives of courses will help convince organizational leaders of their value to their staff. There is also the option to invite leaders of your organization as an "administrator" for your organization on Philanthropy University through the "my account" page.

Because this course will help in monitoring of plans for managing a project and evaluate them to have real time performance efficiency check of designed plans.

Develop an M&E Plan for a department within the organization and monitor progress and improvement within 2-3 months then use that as evidence for the importance of the course

HI @Reshad, thanks for checking in. There are next steps for the Course Ambassador program! Please check our group discussion board and we can discuss there. Does that sound okay? That group is private for only the Ambassadors so it's best to discuss there.

  • @all,

Hi, We usually conduct a weekly review session with our team , wherein we discuss what has been completed in this week so far, and discuss about the priorities for the next week. Along with that, we take the mutual agreement of team and set the timelines for completion of important assignments. The reminder for the assignment deadline is given to all , and after completion of the same, it is marked green/completed and send for review. We keep track of every field activity through a developed tracker to measure the initiation and its success indicator.
