  • Share your best practices: Cycle 1

    Hi everyone,

We here at Philanthropy University recognize that you guys, our learners, are experts in what you do. For that reason, we want to to hear your best practices for common challenges you face in your work.

Every couple weeks, we will ask a new question related to your best practices at work. Please provide you and your organization's best practices, and "vote" for other's best practices that you agree with or are helpful. Based on the best practices that get the most “votes”, we will gather this community’s favorite answers and make a collection of the Pakistan community’s best practices. This collection of best practices will be available to all learners who visit this community, supporting other organizations in Pakistan to overcome these common challenges.

    • What are the best resources you have found specifically for civil society organizations in Pakistan? Are there any websites, organizations, networks, or contacts that you can share with the community?
  • Thanks for this topic! I am not sure if I am getting the question correctly, but I'd share the practices of one institute here in Quetta: www.IDSP.org.pk
What I like the most is that they create schools that are environment friendly and much cheaper for the women in Balochistan province.
You may learn more about this institute from TED talk of Dr Quratul Ain Bakhtiari who runs this organisation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAdQCkjI9CQ

If you contact them at info@idsp.org.pk they respond swiftly. That has been my experience with them.

Hope this is beneficial for the community here!

Awesome, thank you for sharing this Palwasha! Do you know of any websites where other community members can learn about other similar organizations in other provinces?

  • Hi.I would like to share about a volunteer based organisation here in karachi, that aims to fight hunger by providing surplus food to the less fortunate. I basically like their idea of not just feeding the poor but also fighting food wastage. http://robinhoodarmy.com
