Your eight-word mission statement is wonderful. I have two major observations which are listed below.
    (1) Your intention to follow up with "advocate with mass rally against marriage and reform the policy of the northern states". In your follow-up plan quoted above you plan to advocate against marriage in its entirety and not limited to the "child marriage" that is contained in your mission statement again. This is wrong and will definitely create an uproar against your project.
    (2) I think the issue of child marriage that is rampant in northern Nigeria is more of a religious issue more than a state law. I think you would rather do well by carrying their religious leaders along. Much more importantly, education of the girl child will go a long way to liberate that region.

Massive publicity on television, radio, news media and social media. The dangers of measles as related to both its morbidity and mortality would be made obvious to the general populace. The traditional rulers will also be engaged to help disabuse the mind of the people from the wrong perception of the people concerning immunization

Unintended consequence of providing scholarship to refugees in Kenya can be linked to biasness of the service provider, thereby resulting to reduction of targeted beneficiary.

the mission is perfect.I think one of the unintended consequences is that the younger generation may not give back or rather be useful to the families especially if the family neglected their potential by bringing them down and not encouraging them.

A patriarchal mind-set is one of the main reasons for most child marriages in India: young girls, and women in general are perceived to be natural homemakers. Their lives are to be limited within the four walls, as they are unqualified to protect themselves from the dangerous world outside. They need not be educated, nor employed, as they are born to serve and care for the men in the family. When young and unmarried, they are a liability that must be prevented from doing ‘unwomanly’ acts, to avoid bringing shame upon the community. Hence, they must be married off young to withhold family honour, sometimes even to men twice their age. This heinous practice has notably has caused deaths in married girls aged 15-19 due to premature pregnancies. The girls run the risk of contracting HIV, and their children, if born, suffer from low immunity, many of them dying in infancy. Several girls, in such a condition, are exposed to sexual abuse, and suffer from post-traumatic stress.
For example, the utilities are heavily regulated in the way they operate, including the quality of infrastructure and the amount that can be charged to customers. For this reason, these companies face regulatory risk that can arise from events - such as a change in the rates they can charge - that may make operating the business more difficult.
Regulatory Risk is generally defined as the risk of having the 'licence to operate' withdrawn by a regulator, or having conditions applied (retrospectively or prospectively) that adversely impact the economic value of an enterprise.
corporate governance structure and practices that align with industry good practice and enable it to achieve their strategy
Greater clarity and confidence around the regulatory risk framework and the organisation's ability to manage regulatory change.
Understanding of both regulator expectations and business processes and challenges.

    1. Risks that are external to the project and the project manager cannot control. Good examples of external risks are changes in government legislation, changes in strategy from senior managers, and the economy.
Three separate aspects should be analyzed when determining the amount of external risk that exists.

Frequency of Occurrence - What are the odds of an external risk occurring in your situation? Do similar risk situations happen often in your area? This assesses the probability of the external risk.
Duration of the Occurrence - Over what time period will the external risk last? How long will the affected party be at an altered state due to this risk? This assesses the amount of time that would be lost due to the risk and its effects.
Loss of Assets - What types of property could be damaged or destroyed from this risk? This assesses the state of property and assets after the external risk occurs.

    Great Mission!
An unintended consequence here would be parent's inability to support their ward's education in their potential area. E.g. If a child wants to be a doctor in future but from a poor background, the parents may not be able to raise the required funds to support their child through education.

Activities: We provide financial assistance for their education, including meal and transportation allowance, and also cover all school-related expenses. We train the scholars in the areas of leadership, integrity, faith, and excellence through one-on-one coaching and do academic monitoring to ensure that they excel in school. We partner with parents to ensure that scholars receive the moral support from their families and help them finish their college education. Our vision is to see these scholars finish a degree, be gainfully employed, and help their families get out of poverty.

A great mission targeted for the underprivileged youth.
Will you have a single source of fund ( the government?) or other source of funds (for example partnering with profit organizations - referring to the CSR program) in providing the financial assistance. Considering there are a lot of activities to be done in your mission other than to finance the youth in education (such as: providing meal, operation cost for transportation, training trainers etc)

In this module, you learned about the importance of identifying the unintended consequences of your work. It can be difficult, however, to identify the unintended consequences of your own work. So, for this module’s discussion, you will ask your peers to help you out.

    Instructions:

Write your organization’s eight-word mission. Then, describe your organization’s activities in two to four sentences. Post both your mission statement and activities description.
Read your peers’ missions and activities. Respond to at least two of your peers’ posts by listing a possible unintended consequence of this work.

    Eight-word mission:
"Train Nigerian Secondary School leavers in entrepreneurship skills"

    Organization's Activities:

    1. Visit schools to give entrepreneurship talks and practical skills demonstration to arouse interest.
    2. Select 10 most interested students using test or some other criteria.
    3. Give the students three months intensive training.
    4. Encourage them to start business while still in school so they can build their customer base.

To help the youth to take the right path to success and avoid negative behaviour
The organization has achieved in helping many individuals to discover their hiding abilities and talent.

    Good work. But discovering hidden
ability and talents may not really be enough to completely take them off their negative behaviours unless they are given alternative way to success in form of Education or skills training.

  • mission statement defines what an organization is, why it exists, its reason for being. At a minimum, your mission statement should define who your primary customers are, identify the products and services you produce, and describe the geographical location in which you operate.

If you don't have a mission statement, create one by writing down in one sentence what the purpose of your business is. Ask two or three of the key people in your company to do the same thing. Then discuss the statements and come up with one sentence everyone agrees with. Once you have finalized your mission statement, communicate it to everyone in the company.

It's more important to communicate the mission statement to employees than to customers. Your mission statement doesn't have to be clever or catchy--just accurate.

If you already have a mission statement, you will need to periodically review and possibly revise it to make sure it accurately reflects your goals as your company and the business and economic climates evolve. To do this, simply ask yourself if the statement still correctly describes what you're doing.

If your review results in a revision of the statement, be sure everyone in the company is aware of the change. Make a big deal out of it. After all, a change in your mission probably means your company is growing-and that's a big deal.

Once you have designed a niche for your business, you're ready to create a mission statement. A key tool that can be as important as your business plan, a mission statement captures, in a few succinct sentences, the essence of your business's goals and the philosophies underlying them. Equally important, the mission statement signals what your business is all about to your customers, employees, suppliers and the community.

The mission statement reflects every facet of your business: the range and nature of the products you offer, pricing, quality, service, marketplace position, growth potential, use of technology, and your relationships with your customers, employees, suppliers, competitors and the community.

Reducing children's morality rate from Measles in Nigeria.
Massive publicity on television, radio, news media and social media. The dangers of measles as related to both its morbidity and mortality would be made obvious to the general populace. The traditional rulers will also be engaged to help disabuse the mind of the people from the wrong perception of the people concerning immunization

this is a great initiative. my worry is how sustainable this project will be when you are lacking of funds or the eventual death of the vision bearer.

  • being a southern Nigerian who has traveled to more than half of the northern states has opened my eyes to this scourge. i can guarantee that the lift here is promising. however, this might suffer a lot of negative unintended consequences and the probability of success will be measured over a long period of time, many decades for that matter.

And a few more that is still in concept mode...

    this appears to be sustainable.

Our organizational activities include: Working with various partners across sub-Saharan Africa, we improve livelihoods, enhance food and nutrition security, increase employment, and preserve natural resource integrity.
